Requested edit by COI editor 5 April 2019[edit]

I have reverted a good faith edit by COI user Ryanflaherty42 to the article indicating he is advised to put such edits through the WP:REQUESTEDIT method. I have prepared that edit (excluding one minor part to lede which is omitted for clarity) so it simply requires replacement of the History section.Djm-leighpark (talk) 07:04, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ryanflaherty42 ... if you wish apply the edit in the Please replace the history section as follows then please removed the lines with pre and /pre below. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 07:04, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

1980 – 2013   Early Symon Years

Symon Communications Holding Corporation was a Texas-based digital signage company founded in 1980 and owned by San Francisco-based Golden Gate Capital. Symon Communications , a leading global provider of intelligent visual communications, specialized in enterprise digital signage infrastructure, hardware and software across a variety of verticals, including hospitality and healthcare among others.[1]

2013 – 2018  Transition to RMG Networks

In April 2013, Symon Communications was purchased by Reach Media Group (RMG) for $45.5 million, resulting in a newly rebranded RMG Enterprise Solutions.Earlier that year, Reach Media Group Holdings, Inc., a San Francisco-based digital signage company, had gone pubic in a $27.6 million reverse merger with SCG Financial Acquisition Corp.[2][3] The purchase of Symon expanded the company’s digital signage media offering to include complete end-to-end solutions providing hardware, software and professional services.  Combined the company had over 7,500 customers, including a majority of the Fortune 500, and over 1 million installed screens.

Following the close of the acquisition, RMG relocated from their San Francisco headquarters to Symon’s headquarters in the Dallas metropolitan area.  Traded on the NASDAQ Capital Market (RMGN), the company provided digital signage hardware, software and services to power state-of-the-art visual communication implementations for critical contact center, supply chain, employee communications, hospitality, retail and other applications

In 2017, following a multi-year technology investment, RMG announced the global launch of Korbyt™ a SaaS-based visual enterprise communications platform. Later that year, the company announced the launch of KorbytGO, a mobile application designed to deliver multi-channel communications.[4][5]

2018 – present  RMG Networks today

In 2018 RMG announced  that it had been converted back to ta privately held entity in a transaction led by Virgo Capital with participation from existing investor Gregory H. Sachs. Pursuant to the transaction, RMG stockholders received $1.29 per share in cash. As a result of the transaction, RMG's stock ceased trading on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange effective September 28th, 2018.

Later that year, RMG recognized its legacy roots by re-introducing the Symon name with a new brand to represent its heritage on-premise content management platform that continues to power many of their clients’ digital signage solutions.

Today, RMG Networks continues to provide enterprise digital signage hardware, software and services to over 50% of the Fortune 100.

  Unable to review

  • Your edit request could not be reviewed because it contains claims which are not referenced. When proposing edit requests, it is important to highlight in the text, through the use of ref tags and references, which specific sources are doing the referencing for each claim. The point of these references is to allow the reviewer and readers to check that the material is sourced; that point will be lost if the references are not clearly placed. In the collapsed section below titled Request edit examples, I have illustrated two: The first shows how the edit request was submitted; the second shows how requests should be submitted in the future.
Request edit examples
 Partially sourced

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,[1] while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles. The Sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.

In the example above there are three claims made about the Sun and the Moon. However, only one reference has been provided for the claim regarding the Sun's diameter. The claims regarding the Moon's diameter and the Sun's temperature are not referenced. Your edit request similarly contains claims which are unreferenced mixed among the claims which are referenced. The section you've proposed cannot be implemented as a whole without the accompanying references for each constituent claim. These links between material and their source references must be clearly made, as shown in the next example below:

 Fully sourced

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,[1] while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.[2] The Sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.[3]

  3. ^ Uemura, Shū. The Sun's Heat. Academic Press, 2018, p. 2.

In the example above, the three main claims about the Sun and the Moon all have their appurtenant references listed. Because the text contains particular claims about each element described, each element has its own verifying reference.

Kindly reformulate your edit request so that it contains references for each particular claim, and feel free to re-submit that edit request at your earliest convenience. Regards,  Spintendo  20:21, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Risk of undeclared COI editing[edit]

I am concerned this article will be at risk of undeclared COI editing by undeclared COI editors, and the company may be open to bribes to get this article either retained or deleted. This statement is without prejudice to declared COI editors. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 07:04, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I need help on editing this page.[edit]

Hello,

I have information and references to edit this page and delete old information, but will still use a couple of their references. Can someone walk me through how to do this?

Thanks,

The best way to request changes to an article is to use the phrase "Please change x to y using z", as shown below.

Change x to y using z
x A verbatim description of the old text to be removed from the article (if any)
y A verbatim description of the new text to be added to the article (if any)
z A reference which verifies the requested change
Example edit request:

Please change:

  • The Sun's diameter is 25 miles.
 ↑This is x↑

to read as:

  • The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles.
 ↑This is y↑

using as a reference:

  • Harinath, Paramjit (2018). The Sun. Academic Press. p. 1.
 ↑This is z↑

All you need to do is to state what it is that you want to be changed while supplying a reference which verifies the change. Djm-leighpark did this for you, by stating what they wanted added to the article, but in many instances they failed to include the z part, so the request could not be handled. References need to be submitted for all elements within a request for it to be considered.
