I have removed the notability tag. The article has to be notable, because one of its sub-components (basic trading area) has its own article. The basic trading areas are used by the FCC to assign wireless service boundaries, and each basic trading area is constructed around a single RCRS A-rated city. The FCC licenses use of the basic and major trading area definitions from Rand McNally per the referenced map. I have also added a reference to a scholarly paper that specifically references the RCRS.Bellczar (talk) 01:46, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers[edit]

The numbers seem hard to work out. For instance, there are supposedly 47 2-AA cities. 13 are listed. That means 34 more aren't listed. I don't have access to the Rand McNally guide itself, but it seems hard to figure out the central cities of 34 BTAs which are clearly of more significance than places like Fresno or Mobile or Anchorage. john k (talk) 22:51, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have added all the cities for levels through 3-AA (except 2-S; I forgot those). When I go back to the library I'll get the rest of the 2-S cities and some more examples for the lower levels (perhaps ten cities per level). Dtcomposer (talk) 04:00, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool. john k (talk) 14:44, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm surprised Winston-Salem doesn't show up as a 3-BB - it seems clearly more significant than Gastonia, which is listed as 3-BB. john k (talk) 16:30, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
