Sagittaria trifolia[edit]

Looks like there is quite a lot of confusion between Sagittaria trifolia and Sagittaria sagittifolia and most of the text of this article seems to be actually about the former. There seem to be a lot of confusing synonyms of either that use either name, but if I read it right, this article essentially conflated the two (for example by saying it's native both to Ireland and to Japan).

This article is supposed to be about S. sagittifolia, the species native to Europe, Caucasus, and northern Asia, but not India, China, or Japan. Japanese Wikipedia doesn't even have an article about this one at the moment (despite of what Wikidata says about it; interwiki link is wrong). It's referred to as セイヨウオモダカ (seiyō omodaka) in Japanese and zh:欧洲慈姑 (ōuzhōu cígū; and a number of other names) in Chinese (that is by adding an epithet Western or European to the genus name, resp. ja:オモダカ属 and zh:慈姑属).

On the other hand S. trifolia is widely known in East Asia. Chinese calls it zh:野慈姑 (yěcígū), and Japanese Wikipedia has two separate articles about it: ja:オモダカ (omodaka) about the species S. trifolia, and ja:クワイ (kuwai) about its edible cultivated variety usually referred to as S. trifolia var. edulis or S. sagittifolia var. edulis (sic) although currently Japanese Wikipedia gives a cultivar name Sagittaria trifolia 'Caerulea'. Whatever the correct way to call it, these are varieties of the S. trifolia not S. sagittifolia according to all the external links here, if I read them right.
