Re Ofsted Inspections Not sure why we need a link to Ofsted Inspections since nothing of any great importance has been said of the school by Ofsted since 2001. The section is therefore just filling space (and rarely features on any school's page unless Ofsted have said something of great importance).Timzim99 (talk) 21:30, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Too many 'notable former pupils' are unreferenced and should therefore be deleted. Tomintoul (talk) 18:04, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced 'notable' former pupils deleted. Do not add back unless linked to their Wiki page or otherwise referenced.Tomintoul (talk) 15:03, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Champagne[edit]

Tom Champagne. Somebody is repeatedly adding this unreferenced redlink person back. He does not meet notability criteria, so could they please explain why.Tomintoul (talk) 16:09, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re Article Salesian College (London), I am the one who added the name of Tom Champagne to the list of notable alumni. I was at school with him back in the 1950s/60s and can vouch for his notability - not least on the grounds stipulated: namely, that he was the signatory of a junk mailing - ahem, circular letter - inviting people to participate in the Reader's Digest lottery. He retired from this post a few years ago, but not before he had imposed his name on large sectors of the public consciousness. Are you a Battersea Old Boy yourself, might I enquire? If so, do you consider that makes you arbiter of 'notable' v 'non-notable'? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.179.252.175 (talk) 15:09, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki has strict notability criteria and and you have not demonstrated he is/was notable. Normally a notable person will have their own Wiki article. At the very least he should be referenced against an independent reliable source.Tomintoul (talk) 23:26, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Brian Curtin[edit]

What could be mischievous about including Curtin? Surely an example Bosco and Savio would have savoured.Dekethorton (talk) 19:22, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're confusing the words "notable" and "notorious". Timzim99 (talk) 20:57, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Curtin would appear to meet notability criteria and can therefore be included.Tomintoul (talk) 15:48, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To that end, I am restoring the link, which had mysteriously disappeared. Wikipedia articles are not school prospectuses.87.84.11.82 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:19, 7 April 2012 (UTC).[reply]
