Lovely article :) I will post my comments soon. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 18:28, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • No copyvio concerns [1], no dablinks, no broken external links
  • Duplinks: Urartu, Judah, Levant, Ashurbanipal, Elam, Ashur, Naqi'a (make sure these are linked only at their first mention)
Fixed duplinks, some later sections were finished before earlier ones were so just forgot to check for duplinks before. Ichthyovenator (talk) 13:07, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sourcing looks excellent, particularly impressed by the citations.
Good good, thanks :) Ichthyovenator (talk) 13:08, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comments on prose and coverage

All in all beautifully well-written and comprehensive. Thanks for this pleasant read :) A few comments: Sainsf (talk · contribs) 11:17, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks! I really like the stories of the Sargonid kings, so hopefully this article serves as a decent enough overview :) Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • The lead should only have facts from the main text nothing new, and citations should be absent from it unless the claim is too controversial
Yeah, true. The cited info in the lede was just kind of awkward to fit in elsewhere in the article. I added it as the last paragraph of the "Rulers of the Sargonid dynasty" section and removed citations in the lead. Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • nearly two thousand-year history two millenia would sound better
Agreed, changed. Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Say either Sargon or Sargon II consistently
Changed all instances of "Sargon" to "Sargon II" (except some places where Sargon needs to appear without the number). Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • The timeline looks great but the placement makes it appear somewhat sandwiched. Personal opinion.
Agreed, moved it to its own section at the bottom. Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Typically numbers like 'nearly thirty thousand' should be in digits. Check for other instances
Changed to digits. Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:50, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (meaning "Sargon's fortress) quotes
Oops, fixed. Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:50, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Stick to saying BC wherever years are mentioned (670s can be excluded but '670s BC' is mentioned later so consistency is needed)
Added BC to all years (and to the first 670s). Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:50, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Say either Arda-Mulissu or Arda-Mulissi
Both are fine translations of his Akkadian name, but yes it should be consistent. Went with Arda-Mulissu since that's the title of his article and seems to be more common. Ichthyovenator (talk) 14:50, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Captions that are not full sentences should not end with a period
Which captions would these be (almost all of them I assume)?
Yes, save for a few like the Ashurbanipal pic as the last line is a proper sentence. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 16:36, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, removed periods but I'm a bit uncertain so you'll have to check them. Ichthyovenator (talk) 17:35, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work, all done neatly :) Nevertheless, if you are confused take a look at WP:CAPFRAG. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 18:00, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay then, all set for promotion :) Great job. Sainsf (talk · contribs) 18:00, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
