Note[edit]

Sechsschartentürme is plural. Singular is Sechsschartenturm — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.212.142.141 (talk) 20:47, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed the title (Fdsdh1 (talk) 16:11, 9 September 2013 (UTC))[reply]

Referencing, the lack of[edit]

Much of this text is copied from a highly critical view of German defences in an article being created by me for a forum which has yet to be published

what we need it some referencing (as I don't think I can reference my article) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fdsdh1 (talkcontribs) 15:07, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • No problem. Publish the article and state here that the article now exists in some findable form. Then other editors can cite it. Acad Ronin (talk) 18:59, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ok, I will get it published, it may take some time as it has to be proof read by two mods first. (Fdsdh1 (talk) 19:11, 6 September 2013 (UTC)) just tested the link, it is one blocked by wikipedia (it is .freeforums, which is blocked I think) I have submitted for unblocking: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Spam_blacklist#University_of_Kent_Military_History_Society_Forums[reply]

Forums are no good for references. --Danrok (talk) 15:55, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request for info[edit]

Fdshd1, do we know what the manning level was for the bunker, and what the traverse was for the machine guns? I assume the guns covered an arc in excess of 60°, but it would be nice to know for sure. Also, was the "searclight" actually a spotlight, and what was the epicscope's function? Lastly, looking at the UofK Military History Society article on the SAS, one thing that concerns me is that that article did not cite sources. I don't like to link to a source that doesn't cite books, articles in print journals, and the like, because a source that doesn't tell you where the info comes from doesn't actually contribute verifiability. Only the essays on the site are referenced, that is the only problem. I am thinking of buying a book about bunkers so, I am sure all will be explained in that.(Fdsdh1 (talk) 10:02, 7 September 2013 (UTC))[reply]
