Proposed deletion[edit]

I have removed the Proposed Deletion notice because I believe the subject barely meets the notability requirements of WP:BIO. Specifically, "The person has been the primary subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the person." I agree it is a close call, and if anyone disagrees with me this should probably be submitted as an AFD nomination so that we can get the community's opinion. Citation[edit]

There is no record that I can find online that discusses the "crazy family klan's" existence, or something that suggests this purported gang was operating at the time of the shooting. This sort of allegation is highly prejudicial toward the victims. And moreover, it suggests that the victims in this case deserved to be shot by virtue of their association. Further, a citation is needed that associates the victims to the gang in question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.27.94.182 (talk) 12:52, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Category:American murder victims?[edit]

In updating the cats, I was hesitant about removing or leaving this one. While I think its clear many people believe Cesar Rene Arce was murdered, and that very well may be true, the legal outcome of the case itself states otherwise. It seems like leaving the category might be an WP:POV issue, but then taking it away is also a POV issue. Not sure how to follow WP:NPOV here. Possibly and Tpdwkouaa what are your thoughts, as you recently reviewed the sources for this article?4meter4 (talk) 18:41, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

4meter4 Good catch. In this case I believe that we're bound by the official outcome of the case, as assessing it as a murder ourselves would be considered subjective interpretation, which is a textbook WP:POV issue. A similar example is Harvey Milk, who was undoubtedly killed with prejudice in a way that I and many others would colloquially describe as murder, but since his killer was convicted of manslaughter and not murder, Milk's page is in Category:American_manslaughter_victims. Another example is Trayvon Martin, who was also killed in highly prejudicial circumstances (at least in my opinion), but whose killer was found not guilty. Martin's page is only listed in Category:Deaths_by_firearm_in_Florida. /Tpdwkouaa (talk) 19:09, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
4meter4 my mistake, of course it is fine to remove the murder category. --- Possibly 19:18, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
