POV and style issues[edit]

I've cleaned up some vague or redundant phrasing as well as some POV issues in the lead the "Background" section ([1]), but it became clear to me that the problems may be more than superficial. Much of that section read a little like a patriotic polemic in defense of Egypt(ians) against the "Armenians" who keep "stabbing in the back", and I'm skeptical about the accuracy of some of the statements as a result. If helpful, please see also my more detailed comments on the article creator's user talk page ([2], [3]).
