Talk:Skan

Skan does not imply or describe a male creator in particular, rather the maker of makers, the mover of movers.

The source for the previous version of this page was "The Lakota Sweat Lodge Cards: Spiritual Teachings of the Sioux." The order of creation described was exactly the opposite of that documented elsewhere in reliable and credible literature. I have replaced it with a better academic definition of the word, which is short for Taku Skan Skan, and the proper description of the order of creation, in the Lakota Creation Myth. Oncamera seems to have reverted the page so that it now doesn't have the expanded definition of the word Taku Skan Skan, AND changed the order of creation back to the incorrect version, BUT kept the correct order I added in the last change. Inyan was the "Creator." The references document that account. Skan was created AFTER Inyan and Maka, and Wi the sun was last. This is paradoxical, but that is why it is so memorable. Wi is the paramount Wakan Tanka Waste, but came last. Shootingstar (talk) 00:29, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
