Snake dancing was also a 1920s popular dance craze where arm and hand movements mimic a snake or its handling. Fred Astaire performs a memorable one atop a table in the 1943 movie The Sky's the Limit.

Snake Dance can also refer to a part of the Pueblo American Indian celebrations. It originated from the Dream Dance. The event involves the handling of live rattlesnakes and is a variety of rain dance. It can also involve holding live rattlesnakes in the mouth.

If these topics are notable, then separate articles can be created for them--at, perhaps, Snake dancing (just a redirect to this article at the moment) and Snake Dance (Hopi), respectively. But they should not simply be appended to an article on a separate topic.--ShelfSkewed Talk 23:01, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

I looked up this page looking for the Native American tradition that L. Frank Baum briefly notes in Aunt Jane's Nieces and Uncle John https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/10124/pg10124.html, which the title characters find repulsive, although tht has more to do with the snakes than any kind of racism. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 14:58, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
