Adding Senate Sponsor of the Bill[edit]

Senator William L. Armstrong sponsored the sodbuster bill in 1983 to support soil conservation measures and denied federal subsidies for plowing fragile grasslands. It was adopted as part of the 1985 Farm Bill.
