St Peter's Archabbey, SalzburgSt. Peter's Abbey, Salzburg – This is the most common name used in English publications, guides, and websites—all of which include the period after the abbreviation for Saint. Bede735 (talk) 15:38, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - "archabbey" just isn't in common use in English. In ictu oculi (talk) 05:05, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Partial support: The sources seem to plump for either Abbey or one of a number of German terms, so would support the basic move. The period (on this side of the pond, that's a full stop) is more a matter of style. A Google search reveals that the sources are mixed. In the United States it is common (though not universal) to include it, while in Europe (and particularly in the United Kingdom) there is a preference (though again not universal) to exlude it. As this article appears to be written in British English there is no reason to change from the present exclusion of the full stop/period. We are specifically advised not to try to change the English variety at Wikipedia:National varieties of English. Skinsmoke (talk) 05:16, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Partial support as per Skinsmoke. This is a WP:ENGVAR issue. The full stop (period) is not generally used in the abbreviation for "saint" in British English. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:30, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
