Removal of recently added defamatory content[edit]
Consistent with Wikipedia guidance, the recently added comment regarding Dr. Dillingham's departure from the Census Bureau is defamatory and based on an unsubstantiated and biased opinion piece, for which a corrective letter to the editor and/or opinion piece is being submitted. The comment conflicts with recent press releases and published agency explanations of data quality confidence. The inserted content contains contentious material about living persons and is based on poorly sourced material and opinions. Further, content in biographies of living persons should adhere to principles of academic rigor, and thus are NOT the right place for accusations and innuendo that serve only to inflame an already contentious environment. The referenced addition should be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, as it is potentially libelous.

I believe edits around this topic have been made in previous months, but I wanted to respond to this comment. I believe the language "marked by accusations" should not be construed as defamatory, but reflective of the press's coverage at the time of his departure.
