Title of Article[edit]

The title of the article is incorrect and is not an accurate translation of the name nor a pure reflection of its proper meaning. The title should read "The Supreme Council for the Defence of the Country", or a variance thereof. The underlying principle is that defence is not limited to national matters but it also recognizes the role of the Romanian state in the defence of other nationals that are citizens of Romania, such as Gypsies, Hungarian, Tatars, Turks, Russians, Ukrainians and so forth. The current title represents a slight, yet significant, corruption of the original meaning in the Romanian language.
