Merge suggestion[edit]

It feels to me that the Pilgrim Fathers Memorial article is very much a non notable memorial, not particularly old, large or otherwise of interest. The article itself even states "there is also a Pilgrim Fathers Memorial in Southampton". This said there is some valuable content of the page, with I suggest could be merged to The Haven, Boston. -- Fluteflute Talk Contributions 17:23, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The memorial might interest a lot of people in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Middelburg and Massachusetts. Of those who are not interested, in many cases, that may be because they don't know about it. Wikipedia could put that omission right, if you will let it. As to merging it with The Haven: why? The non-reasons you give are certainly not convincing: I am not particularly old or large but I have a user page. The lack of interest says more of the person's mind than of the events commemorated. If you can bring yourself to stop yawning, you might usefully write up the Southampton monument. (RJPe (talk) 21:55, 30 January 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Id say keep - it would certainly be worth working on the page, mind you! This is a specific event in history, and there is more to the story such as how these people were held at the Boston Guildhall. There is plenty to be said about the Haven quite apart from the forerunners of the Pilgrim Fathers. Im not in Lincolnshire, although I am from Lincolnshire, and have visited the memorial.

sorry forgot to sign. the bot will be after me now Panderoona (talk) 15:28, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I vote keep separate. By all means add a note to The Haven, mentioning the memorial, but who would think of looking at The Haven to find out about the Pilgrim Fathers? Bob1960evens (talk) 15:37, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is actually another memorial at Immingham, as well as the one at Southampton. I think it would be justified to have all three on a page such as Pilgrim Fathers Memorials in England. See commons:Category:Pilgrim Fathers. Charles Matthews (talk) 12:37, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
