Fair use rationale for Image:Mary-erskine.gif[edit]

Image:Mary-erskine.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Introductory paragraph too long[edit]

I think the introductory overview lead section to this article is far too long. It has six paragraphs and almost 400 words. Wikipedia guidelines for the introductory section are that it should be brief: "... Good articles start with a brief lead section introducing the topic. We discuss lead sections in greater detail below. The lead section should come above the first header; it is almost never useful to add something like ==Introduction==. Sometimes, the first section after the lead is a broad summary of the topic, and is called "Overview", although more specific section titles and structures are generally preferred..." I think I have read somewhere that the lead section overview should not contain any citations. Citations should be included in detailed descriptions sections below the lead section. This article has eight citations in the lead section. I suggest much of the present material in the introductory lead section be moved down to the body of the article.SylviaStanley (talk) 10:10, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Louise Eates[edit]

Added suffragette Louise Eates (married name), her middle name was Mary and she was born in Richmond Yorkshire and educated at Edinburgh Ladies College (according to Suffragette resources). See more on her wiki page. Does anyone have any more information on her life in Edinburgh, her parents, siblings or even just her maiden name?
