Based on a Book[edit]
This film is based on the book "The President's Mystery Plot", the introduction to the book relates the tale of how President Franklin Delano Roosevelt developed the idea and could never come up with an ending. Fulton Oursler, editor of Liberty magazine, offered to present the story to several "leading mystery-story writers" to solve the problem. This led to the book which later led to the film. As a side note FDR did receive $9000 from Liberty, which went to the Warm Springs Foundation. Tommyborsh (talk) 00:54, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
