I surmise that Áilill is connected with the legend attached to Cnoc Áine in Limerick? If not, is there any connection with Domhnach Seachnaill (Dún Seachlainn in secular records) in Meath where there is a Máel Dúin housing estate now and from whence came Máel Seachlainn? Máel Seachlainn II succeeded Brian Ború as High King in the eleventh century.

Vagueness in "Sources" section[edit]

Concerning the "Sources" section, the word "redaction", and the phrase "the tale itself", Hijiri88 interpolated this comment:

The story? The text? What is meant by "redaction"? Did Aed compose a text based on a tale he had heard? This sentence is extremely vague.

Agreed, but this exact text was taken from EB1911. Still, hopefully someone can clear it up. Also, I don't know if the texts identified are still in the same libraries as in 1911. David Brooks (talk) 03:57, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
