Re: Thomas Macaulay[edit]

The article states that "Thomas Macaulay mistold" the story of Aikenhead. In what way was it mistold? This article seems to have been cut and pasted from the unitarian website linked to at the bottom of page. Unfortunately I know nothing at all about this case so I can't attempt to remedy the situation myself. Jamrifis (talk) 12:04, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Age[edit]

If Aikenhead was born in March 1676 and was executed on 8 January 1697, how can he of been 20 years of age at his death? Brough87 (talk) 12:25, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

His 20th birthday was March 1696. His 21st birthday would have been in March 1697. Therefore, when he was executed in January 1697, he was still 20 years old. RoastDack (talk) 20:29, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

But these dates are (presumably) under the old Julian calendar which was not only several days behind the modern Gregorian calendar introduced in 1752, but also began the year on 25th March. Biography/early life[edit]

Aside from a guess at the month of this birth, this theoretically biographical article says nothing at all about its subject occurring before the act for which he lost his life (in fact, it begins with the indictment).
