Which country?[edit]

Please clarify: which country do these islands belong to? Bards 07:48, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They belong to Finland and I've no idea why this article has a Swedish name.--213.186.251.20 20:46, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The article has a Swedish name since the municipality in which the islands are situated is bilingual with Swedish being the first language. Also, the Swedish name is the islands' original name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.64.33.140 (talk) 08:50, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Swedish is an indigenous language in Finland. And (occasioned by a misplaced "correction" of the name) it's örarna, not öarna. For that word, see e.g. http://runeberg.org/svetym/1325.html .151.177.62.193 (talk) 21:36, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
