Bikini Belt[edit]

I don't want to be pedantic, but there are plenty of other photos of Ursula Andress clearly wearing the same bikini but without the belt - the belt is not part of the bikini but is being worn over the bikini. Well, that's how it looks to me, but no actual source except for the other photos. Anybody else got any thoughts? Rickedmo (talk) 00:41, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I realize it's four years on, but for the benefit of anyone else reading this; images of the scene available via google images all seem to depict her wearing the belt. Even the Halle Berry homage to the scene in her Bond film shows her wearing the belt. --Hammersoft (talk) 21:22, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Film critic remark[edit]

A film critic described the famous scene as "Ursula Andress emerged from the surf preceded by two spinnakers." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.229.160.187 (talk) 21:24, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

According to Slate, the quote is "Actress Ursula Andress fills a wet bikini as if she were going downwind behind twin spinnakers." Another version is "...like a schooner going downwind behind twin spinnakers." Unfortunately, I cannot put any name to this quote, and I don't think the quote is useable if made by "anonymous". If anyone can source which journalist attended the advance screening, please do add the quote. CapnZapp (talk) 08:04, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Slate, pah! It was Time magazine, apparently -

here, and quoted in this book. Johnbod (talk) 23:34, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent! Feel free to add the quote/source. (Your links are great, except I can't seem to make them work for preparing a proper reference. Which exact issue, page number and author of TIME are we talking about?) CapnZapp (talk) 11:47, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Johnbod In case you didn't see my response. (If you did, and have nothing to add, please ignore). CapnZapp (talk) 08:41, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
