possibly useful?[edit]

I mistakenly started a new version of this article at Willamette Shore Railway. I have since redirected, but it's possible one of the sources I found would be useful. The stub I started is here: Special:Permalink/646072623 -Pete (talk) 19:04, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good article nomination?[edit]

I am reassessing this article as B Class, which seems uncontroversial. (It was listed as "Start" by WikiProject Trains, and "C" by WikiProject Oregon.) But it looks to me like a good candidate to be proposed for WP:GA. Any thoughts? -Pete (talk) 21:11, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Basic map[edit]

I created a basic map of the right-of-way, from OpenStreetMap. I don't think it's worthy of inclusion without marking the route more clearly; but thought I'd stash it here in case somebody wants to take that on. -Pete (talk) 19:35, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Pete. Is there an easy way for uploading maps like this via OSM? I've always thought more articles would benefit from having maps. I wish there were a streamlined process to add OSM maps to Wikimedia projects... ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:47, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There might be, but I'm not aware of it. I'd ask around at WP:WikiProject Maps. We got excellent help a long time ago from Kmusser, who made gorgeous maps on request for the Columbia River article. Perhaps there is, or could be, some convenient software to extract OSM maps? In this case, I just took a screen shot. -Pete (talk) 17:47, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
