Defining the genre of Yuli Daniel's 1960s publications[edit]

Given the dark quality of several of Daniel's publications (see the Day of Permitted Murders in "Moscow Speaking") it does not seem appropriate to use the blanket term "satirical" to describe them. Only recently the theatre director Kama Ginkas described in Novaya gazeta the impact of Daniel's probing stories on his contemporaries, a cynical audience not unlike that today.[1] John Crowfoot (talk) 03:59, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
