If ANYONE wants him...[edit]

...they can bloody well have him. Strictly no returns!

Controversy?[edit]

The article mentions in several places that he is "controversial" and "dogged by controversy" but never goes into any more detail than that (other than the unsourced bit about how some people don't like his work, true of any artist). What exactly has he done that's so controversial? 161.11.130.249 (talk) 20:37, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Even though what he produces is generally considered a bad joke and kitchy garbage, surely there must be some critical commentary about that "work" somewhere in contemporary art periodicals? I remember there was mention of him in a TV documentary a few years ago about contemporary Russian art - the presnter being almost unable to hide his laughter when entering a room full of the "artists" work - I think it was at the home of some oligarch and only the grim presense of the mafiosi bodyguards restrained him. Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Zurab Tsereteli/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

It seems to me that this article includes some uncritical praise about Zurab Tsereteli. The views of those critics sceptical of the work of Zurab Tsrereteli should also be mentioned in the article. I have found some sources on the internet being highly critical of Tsereteli and his work.

see for instance this article in German: http://oe1.orf.at/highlights/72471.html

This article criticises the omnipresence of Tseretli's works in Moscow, his close relations to the political rulers of Russia, in particular Moscow's mayor Lushkov and Russian president Putin, as well as the artistic quality of his work, classified as "kitsch".

Including also some critical words about this artist would make the article appear more balance.
