  • This is a newly-promoted GA and is long enough and nominated soon enough. Either hook could be used as both are interesting and cited inline, but I prefer ALT1. @Gog the Mild: The article uses the phrase "It is reported that" which implies some doubt that the following facts are true. Is that the case here, because the hook seems definite that he had to watch his sons being killed? The article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. @Cwmhiraeth: Hi. Thanks for reviewing this. "Reported" is just my rhetorical turn of phrase. I suppose that most historical "facts" are only known because they have been "reported". In this case by reasonably reliable contemporary secondary sources. The report is also inherently credible (I won't bore you with why unless you are interested) and accepted as fact by all modern historians; eg Norwich who I use above.
That said, I am more than happy to rephrase if you think that would improve the article. Gog the Mild (talk) 10:56, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
  • I think the ALT1 hook might appeal more to a wide audience than ALT0. I suggest you rephrase the "reported" sentence in case other people have any problem with it. You can always change it back after the DYK has run if you wish. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:07, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
