All points check out, and image is licenced, ready to go. My only doubt is that the article is about a particular theatre, so I would suggest the bolded link ought really to be on the words "State Theatre". Moonraker (talk) 15:34, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

- Gerda Arendt Moonraker, the hook is Theater in Saarbrucken, but the article is Theater Saarbrucken? Also not sure what director means -- the source is in German so I may not be understanding the translation, but in English it calls him 'acting director of the Duke' and later for six years calls it almost a part-time job 'as a kind of acting director in the service of Duke Ludwig.' That source makes it sound like it was sort of unofficial? I'm wondering if we can come up with a better hook, as this one seems likely to be challenged if I promote it. --valereee (talk) 14:25, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Theater is the German word for theatre, - we have many such names, Theater Dortmund, Theater Kiel, you name it. The Saarbrücken one had many names in history, therefore I found it unfair to give the article the latest (very German) name, which it has for the shortest time. If "directed" is ambiguous, how about "run"? I'm afraid there were no "official" job descriptions back then. Iffland was one of the most prominent names in drama then, see Iffland-Ring, even today the highest honour for an actor. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:48, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

This comes back to doubts I raised, which Gerda Arendt has replied to. I do think the page is primarily about the Saarländisches Staatstheater completed in 1938, initially called the Gautheater Saarpfalz, and that is borne out by the first few words, "Theater Saarbrücken, officially Saarländisches Staatstheater..." But there is no reference for that first name, Theater Saarbrücken, being used by the present theatre. The "history" section refers to several earlier theatre venues, and Gerda says above "the article is about theatre in Saarbrücken in its different forms" and wishes to bring that history into the hook. I am sure this can be managed, but if the page name, "Theater Saarbrücken", is a particular theatre, it would be better to use its present name, and if it is aiming to cover all theatres in Saarbrücken then I would suggest changing the page name to "Theatres in Saarbrücken" to avoid confusion. Then to deal with valereee's other point we could make the hook say "...began as a court theatre with Iffland...", which avoids calling him a director. Moonraker (talk) 00:31, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Theatres in Saarbrücken would be misleading, suggesting )to me) that the article was about different theatres at the same time. I hesitate to call it Saarländisches Staatstheater in the hook, it's long and German and would need a translation, + a rather young name. Court, town, gau, city, state - it's complex, and Theater Saarbrücken an attempt to find one hat fitting all. Better suggestions welcome. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 04:46, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Very well, Gerda, so the article is about the Saarländisches Staatstheater. I see no problem with calling that in English the "State Theatre", but what began with Iffland was surely a series of different theatres. So we have one fact about the history of theatre in Saarbrücken jostling with another about a building from the 1930s. valereee is asking for a better hook, as she thinks this one will be challenged. Why not just go with a shorter one about the building being commissioned by Goebbels? It's very hooky. Moonraker (talk) 16:33, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
- We could take any of the three facts. For me, their combination makes it interesting. Don't ask me to propose something which I find less interesting. I am used to it, but also tired of it. Very well, Gerda, both facts are cited, one about Iffland and the other about Goebbels. I have doubts about the page name, but I think the hook complies with the rules, and I do not think they regulate the page name. valereee believes the hook will be challenged, and in the present climate of nit-picking I guess she is right. If you are not going to suggest another hook, all I can suggest is that we ask valereee to promote this one and you then slug it out with the usual suspects as and when the challenge comes along. - It is approved, and mentioning 3 stages of theatre can't get around mentioning theatre 3 times easily, - at least I can't. Challenged is fine, - today's was also challenged, but no problem so far. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:00, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
