Observation[edit]

This template is the same as template:EU. --Lasunncty (talk) 06:54, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from ChiZeroOne, 21 February 2011[edit]

{{edit protected}} As noted previously, this template has for some reason become a duplicate of {{EU}}. This template was originally created to display "Europe" alongside the Flag of Europe (hence the "EUR", not "EU") as opposed to the cases where the flag is used in conjunction with the European Union. Europe and the EU are two different entities and I suggest that it should be changed back, there are many cases where "EU" would be inappropriate to describe the origin of something for example. ChiZeroOne (talk) 07:12, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

changed. If anyone disagrees with this, feel free to revert and discuss. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:28, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from BurritoBazooka, 18 April 2016[edit]

In line with the previous edit request, and noting that the EU and Europe are not the same entity, demonstrated in that some European countries are not in the EU, I wish for this template to be moved from Category:European Union templates to Category:Europe templates, and for the wikiproject responsible for it changed to Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe. I'm also unsure about the flag, being the flag of dominant political institutions in Europe. Continents do not have official flags - one wouldn't think of using the African Union flag for Africa, or the Australian flag for Oceania, although on the other hand, it's already become convention in other circles (like sports, i.e. golf) to use the EU flag (shared by the Council of Europe) as the flag of Europe. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 22:44, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done @BurritoBazooka: I've added Category:Europe templates to the template. I've also added the Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe template to this talk page. Categories and WikiProject templates aren't mutually exclusive. Please gain consensus if you want the European Union category or talk page template removed.Godsy(TALKCONT) 00:31, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

with {{documentation}} to allow non-template-editors to develop documentation for this template. I have copied the current categories over to the /doc page, and the interwikis are all present on wikidata except for 1 due to an interwiki conflict (and the fact that it doesn't actually match this template). Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 02:34, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done Please update the documentation. It needs something more than an empty Usage section. Cabayi (talk) 17:01, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know where this template is used, so I've tagged it with "Improve documentation" DannyS712 (talk) 18:46, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
