Fall 1945 Dissolution and prohibition of all existing sports clubs in the Soviet Occupation Zone; all club property is seized by command of the Allied Control Commission.
Fall 1945 Permission to found local Sportgruppen (SG) in the Magdeburg boroughs of Lemsdorf and Sudenburg.
May 1949 SG Lemsdorf and SG Sudenburg merge to form Betriebssportgemeinschaft Eintracht Sudenburg.
12 July 1950 BSG Eintracht Sudenburg and the sport group of SAG Krupp Gruson Magdeburg merge to form BSG Krupp Gruson Magdeburg.
6 April 1951 BSG Krupp Gruson Magdeburg is renamed BSG Stahl Magdeburg.
15 May 1952 BSG Stahl Magdeburg is renamed BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg.
23 August 1957 The football department of BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg is dissociated from the club and joins SC Aufbau Magdeburg, founded two years earlier.

^2 The 1952–53 FDGB-Pokal was abandoned after the first round due to due to the events around the Uprising of 1953 in East Germany. The competition was continued as 1953–54 FDGB-Pokal.
^3 Due to a change to a summer month league, a transition round was played in 1955, but no championship was awarded, nor were teams relegated or promoted.
^4 Relegated due to non-qualification for 2nd Bundesliga/Regionalliga/3rd Liga.
^5 The Saxony-Anhalt Cup consisted merely of the play-off of the two Bezirkspokal Magdeburg and Halle winners. FCM went out in the quarterfinals of the Bezirkspokal.
^6 After the first team had been eliminated in the quarter finals, the reserve team won the cup.
^7 Relegation as the club was not granted a license for the following season.
^8 The competition was abandoned due to the Covid-19 pandemic ahead of the semi-finals. Magdeburg were granted a spot in next season's DFB-Pokal.
