    • What does mk1 and mk2 stand for?
mark 1 and mark 2.
(Georgie Girl And Her) Poussez Posse mk1 and mk2 are the two incarnations of the band. Mk1 was with Danie, Molly and Rachael who left to form The Featherz (plus Fiona Bevan who dropped out earlier). Mk2 was with Hazel, Jessica and Charis who were hired as the three replacement sidewomen.
A good analogy can be drawn with Adam and the Ants which also had two incarnations linked by a lead singer and bandname (in that case, Mk1 being the original underground punk version which ended with the final sidemen leaving to form Bow Wow Wow, and Mk2 being the second version formed with Marco Pirroni which went on to UK national and international success.)
You may perhaps prefer to refer to them as "the first incarnation" and "the second incarnation" of the band in a finished article.Romomusicfan (talk) 20:02, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
As well as two very different lineups, the two incarnations used different arrangements and a noticably different sound and image. Here is a video of an entire gig by PP mk1 (incidentally the first song of the set is the only recording of Rubber Medusa on Youtube). Here are a selection of video clips of PP mk2 in action.
As you can hear, Posse mk1 employed a lighter punkier, more uptempo sound, while mk2 were darker and growlier with some gothic elements.Romomusicfan (talk) 20:11, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
