Introduction[edit]

The SLR650 was released in 1997 by Honda, and is a more road-biased version of the NX650 Dominator. It possesses a 644cc, SOHC air cooled, 4 valve, dry sump, single cylinder engine, derived from the XR650. The SLR650 has a rectangular-section steel backbone frame which doubles as an oil reservoir for the dry sump engine. The SLR650 is equipped with Brembo brakes and was also equipped with semi-knobbed Pirelli tyres as standard.[1][2]

The production of the SLR650 was halted in 1999 and it was re-released as the FX650 Vigor which continued to be produced until 2001. [2]

Accessories and Components[edit]

The SLR650 received some negative attention due to not possessing certain accessories other motorcycles do, for example, the SLR650 does not have a centre stand or a Tachometer. There was also complaint of the headlight being poor. [2]

The SLR650 is equipped with both front and rear single disc brakes and has a fuel capacity of 13 litres.[2]
