Personal positions:

  • I believe humanity has achieved incredible things, among which Wikipedia ranks highly.
  • I believe that trajectories of human development predict that humanity will continue to achieve incredible things.
  • I advocate for liberal use of precisely-defined words when discussing controversial subjects.
  • I believe the use of political ideology terms in political debates gets in the way of addressing policy questions.

I have experience editing Wikias, but yesterday's edits are my first on Wikipedia. Temporary political account (talk) 16:22, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

I'm about to abandon this account (and change IP address), but for the sake of posterity, I thought I'd record my procedure before I made my first edit:

  1. Skimming through political ideology pages
  2. Read first line of Neoliberalism
  3. Thought that's not how I've see it used
  4. Searched for a paper on the usage of the term
  5. Skim-read Boas and Gans-Morse (2009)
  6. Read through various meta pages to work out how to stylise my edit
