Article Review[edit]

Action movies are extremely popular. Learning about the little details in these movies was extremely entertaining. I visited the Gun Fu page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: The citations are missing , Some of the references are unrelated to the topic at hand, and there is unneeded information in the article.

Citations

The article for Gun Fu contains a lot of information. The information ranges from examples of Gun Fu, and quotes. However, a vast majority of the information that this article provides is followed by a citation needed tag. Showing that the writer did not put an adequate level of research into the information. There are references at the bottom of the page but none of the citations lead anywhere substantial.

Unrelated references[edit]

All of the references that this article provides to articles or sights have nothing to do with the topic on hand or only slightly mention the topic. The first reference leads to a review on the movie "equilibrium". It briefly mentions Gun Fu but not extensively enough for its contexts to be relevant for the wikipedia article. While not all of the references the article gives are unrelated, all of the references are from sites that are covered in ads and do not seem to be trustworthy

Unneeded information[edit]

One of the sections of the article is on "Heroic Bloodshed" which is a genre of movies. While this genre uses Gun Fu and is worth mentioning. Dedicating a whole section and including quotes on the topic of the genre and not the topic of Gun Fu really drives away from Gun Fu and seems irrelevant to the topic at hand.

Summary[edit]

In summary, the article provides good information and examples of Gun Fu. It just needs to include more citations and the references needs to be updated with more relevant and reliable sources. I would overall rate this article as okay. While it needs work, it provides an easy to understand definition of Gun Fu and a general idea of what it is.
