Hi, יורם שורק, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question.

However, there is a small issue with your username. As it is in a non-Latin alphabet script it may not display correctly for many other users. Although usernames like yours are not prohibited, Wikipedia's signature guideline and username policy encourage you, as a courtesy to other users, to alter your signature so that it also includes a transliteration of your username using Latin characters, so others can see it correctly. For the how-to of tailoring your username, please see WP:CUSTOMSIG.

Thanks, and feel free to message me about anything.

Problems with photos, captiond[edit]

Hi Yoram. Thank you for contributing some excellent photos. I would dare to ask you to pay attention to the following details.

  • If an identical or very similar photo is at the top of the page, inside the infobox, please don't post it again within the article.
  • Photos only make sense in the section referring to their own topic. Mayors from the 2000s among historical data make no sense.
  • Photos of mayors are not considered an enrichment. Teddy Kollek or maybe Ron Huldai might be, but not even Huldai has a photo on the Tel Aviv page.
  • Please leave an empty line after the photo, before it, or both, so that editors can more easily tell text from photo. It's an English Wiki standard procedure.
  • Please never put photos smack in the middle of a paragraph, between two sentences.
  • More caution with the captions please. The Comăneci monument isn't a Comăneci monument, it's dedicated to the entire gymnastics school. I can help out with Romanian topics.
  • English: please a bit more careful. English is only my third language and I have my issues with it, but Google Translate is a perfectly sufficient tool to avoid the biggest mistakes, and it's easy to use. Memorials are only built for dead people and Nadia is still very much alive; "dairect heat" is "direct hit"; etc.

Careless editing gives a lot of headache to other editors. You have great nature photos, and the political photos are hugey enriching too. With a little additional effort you can keep the excellent part in and avoid all the small problems.

You can always write to me, best would be on my own talk-page, or ping me on the article's talk-page, and I'll try to help as soon as I find a minute.

All the best and keep up the great work! Arminden (talk) 21:39, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
