December 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm 10mmsocket. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Charles Chetwynd-Talbot, 22nd Earl of Shrewsbury, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:10, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Avoiding an edit war[edit]

Information icon Hi 86.191.237.115! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:29, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"The Lord"[edit]

Hello. Please stop changing "The Lord X" to "The Baron X". Peers are commonly known as Lords. Cf. the House of Lords. HandsomeFella (talk) 19:24, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please stop creating results like "as an Elected Hereditary peer". We don't use upper-case here, and neither "elected" nor "hereditary" are proper nouns (they're not even nouns). This is the correct result: "as an elected hereditary peer". HandsomeFella (talk) 19:27, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, can you do that all the elected Hereditary in the succession boxes underneath 86.191.237.115 (talk) 19:28, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
