Entries on disambiguation pages

I noticed you've added entries on some dab pages recently, such as Old Forge and The Big House. Please note that each entry on a dab page should have at most one navigable (blue) link. (See here for the policy.) For example, you added this to The Big House:

The entry should be written with only one blue link. One way to do that would be:

In this case, I chose "County Antrim" as the best link to leave. "Townland" would probably work as well; either would be a closer match than "Northern Ireland". If an article is ever written for the Bighouse townland itself, then the other blue link should be removed.

By the way, thanks for the education -- I'd never heard the term "townland" before! --Auntof6 (talk) 06:31, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Alaska Seaplane Service

I have nominated Alaska Seaplane Service, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alaska Seaplane Service (3rd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:44, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to (are members of) it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted, without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:1521 in France]] to articles/categories that belong in it.

I have also blanked the category page. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of blanking and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to revert the blanking if you wish. However, doing so will not prevent deletion if the category remains empty.

If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

Same thing with Category:1543 in France. --Stepheng3 (talk) 21:03, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of 1984 in Norway

A tag has been placed on 1984 in Norway requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Problem with deletion nominations of 'Years in' articles

Perhaps we should coordinate some sort of strategy to confront this recurring problem. I have experiences it before and I'm sure many other 'Years in' structures experience this a troublesome also. I think Wikipedia:WikiProject Years may provide the appropriate forum. __meco (talk) 18:00, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm surprised that you haven't responded to the above. The problem is obviously a persistent one. __meco (talk) 08:30, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of ExpressJet Europe

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article ExpressJet Europe, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

The proposed company appears to have never started. The link provided to the company website is not active and one of the references provided says the status is "out of business"

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi Ardfern - your new stub category has been speedily deleted as a re-creation of a previously deleted stub category. Please read WP:STUB, which explains the proposal process for stub categories and templates, and also explains that stub categories should have a minimum of 60 existing stubs before they can be created (this is the reason why fermanagh does not have a category, but other similar counties do have). if you wish to propose a new category, please do so at WP:WSS/P, which is the normal place for such proposals - but in the case of Fermanagh, I would suggest you find or create a few new stubs for it first! Grutness...wha? 00:24, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

I take your point, but in general stub categories tend to stay similar in size or increase (more stubs tend to be made than are expanded). In a case like Armagh, if it drops too far it will almost certainly be proposed for re-upmerging into the NI category (this has happened in the past, but exactly what "too far" is remains a bit arbitrary) Grutness...wha? 23:48, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Date format change

In this edit you begin to change the date format on some of the existing entries. This makes no sense as the article is already uniform in its use of formats. __meco (talk) 20:34, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ulster History Circle, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ulsterhistory.co.uk/index.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 12:17, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

An exciting opportunity to improve yourself!

As a member of the Aviation WikiProject or one of its subprojects, you may be interested in testing your skills in the Aviation Contest! I created this contest, not to pit editor against editor, but to promote article improvement and project participation and camraderie. Hopefully you will agree with its usefulness. Sign up here, read up on the rules here, and discuss the contest here. The first round of the contest may not start until September 1st-unless a large number of editors signup and are ready to compete immediately! Since this contest is just beginning, please give feedback here, or let me know what you think on my talkpage. - Trevor MacInnis contribs 05:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Khyber Afghan Airlines

I could not find any sources that confirm that Khyber Afghan Airlines exists. So I put a PROD on the article. It will be deleted unless there are reliable sources that state that the airline exists. Since you originally created the article, do you know of any that confirm that Khyber Afghan Airlines exists? Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 07:22, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

October 2009

Your recent addition to Luxaviation has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Was mostly a copy-paste from [1] Admrboltz (talk) 19:11, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Yo are right. I am sorry. I didn't notice that an IP had come in an hijacked the article and pasted their main page into the article. I have since undone his additions, and reverted it back to a non plagiarized version. My apologizes. --Admrboltz (talk) 15:35, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Help / Advice

I notice that you are experienced in time-lines of places. I wish to use a wiki to record local town-lands, but also a time-line of events for each. Being a newbie I'm looking for your advice on how to achieve this using a wiki.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
