Suggestion[edit]

Hello. I'm assuming this is the script that is used to display those popup boxes and/or highlight references when you mouseover a citation (or least the original script, since I can't track down what script is actually being used for that site-wide). I'd like to suggest that the relevant script in effect be amended to also affect edit previews. It would be nice to see the popup box while previewing an edit, which would help users with adding/reviewing cites/refs, etc. —RyanayR (talk) 04:03, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The official popups are at Reference Tooltips. I'm afraid I don't really maintain or use this script any more since they implemented the official new, but what you ask is really beyond the limits of the script. Unless there's a <references/> tag somewhere in the previewed page, there's no way to know what's meant to be in the footnote without the ability to parse wikitext or send http request. — Blue-Haired Lawyer t 16:01, 9 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thanks for the response. — RyanayR (talk) 00:06, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
