Out of curiosity, what is/are your former username/s? John Reaves 00:00, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am a voice for the voiceless. Sorry if that doesn't satisfy your curiosity. It's all I can offer at the moment. BobDysart (talk) 00:10, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How quaint ;) John Reaves 00:12, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for being understanding.  :)

November 2008[edit]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing. You seem to be only here to disrupt Wikipedia. Please stop. Toddst1 (talk) 01:32, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was not my intention to vandalize. I was posting the existence of a secret Admin only channel as a genuine concern. I am a relatively new user. Please advise me as to how to discuss this issue at the proper forum. Thanks.
The discussion in question was blanked [1].BobDysart (talk) 01:33, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think an "only warning" might be a bit extreme for this editor. From what I've seen, he's hardly "vandalising" Wikipedia, he's just posting comments that are considered time wasting for the administrators. Although I doubt there are any secret cabals in existence, I think that this editor, if he truly believes what he claims, should be educated on the process in which administrators edit, rather than simply slapping him with a ban for "vandalism". ≈ The Haunted Angel 01:40, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Angel. I liked your Mt. Keen picture. What a view! Also your link to the jokes. Checking the sites you linked to even led me to an article on reverse graffiti. Interesting stuff. Anyway, I'm glad you've kept a sense of humor.
I'm among the many new users who have gotten in way over their heads. It doesn't seem likely I'll be able to dig my way out (pun intended), but it's always nice to see editors and Admins here who look out for the little guys and gals. I tried to post on your talk page to be a bit discrete, but I seem to have fallen under some sort of block... Cheers! BobDysart (talk) 03:29, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Concern[edit]

Why not release the logs? Let's see how often Admins have been violating the most basic values of Wikipedia and gone off-wiki to reach consensus. I have been on here for a while (a short while), but never once was it disclosed to me that Wikipedia is governed in secret at Admin only discussion channels. In fact I've been told repeatedly that everything is done out in the open by consensus. There are all kinds of rules and I've been accused of everything at one point or another. The ironic part is that I just want to edit and contribute to articles. Yet now I come to find out that all those rules are for the noobs. Admins have their own special venues for discussion and aren't subject to any of the same rules that I am. This is very distressing, but even more troubling is that I anticipate being blocked indefinitely and having this page blanked... very soon! BobDysart (talk) 01:50, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm an admin. I've never looked at any "admin only discussion channel" (or indeed any other). I suppose that such a channel exists, and that people post some stupid things there. But I suspect that if I started to read it, I'd soon doze off. (Let them witter away to each other, say I.) The secret government has never got in my way; what aspect of the secret government is an impediment to your stated aim ("I just want to edit and contribute to articles")? I'm afraid that it must be a very severe impediment, given that your regular list of edits and your list of deleted edits bring a grand total of zero (0) edits to articles. -- Hoary (talk) 11:51, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Consider Me Summoned[edit]

(Though unfortunately a bit late) I see you have discovered Wikipedia's dirty, little not-so secret. I therefore strongly urge any fair-minded, neutral admins (assuming there are any left) reading this to unblock you. Your few edits hardly constitute a bannable offense, except in a police state where assuming good faith and not biting the newcomers are just more meaningless mantras. Let's not hold our breaths however. In the meantime we still have free and uncensored G-mail. I hope to hear from you there. Ciao.R.D.H.
