Speedy deletion nomination of LGBT Rights in Russia[edit]

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged LGBT Rights in Russia for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, LGBT rights in Russia.

Deleted content[edit]

Hey, just letting you know that there are already two articles that deal with LGBT issues in Russia, LGBT history in Russia and LGBT rights in Russia, so you should work on expanding the information in that area. One thing I do have to caution you about though, is to be careful not to put original research in anything you write on Wikipedia. I didn't look over the content too closely to see if you inserted anything of this nature, but I did notice some comments here that requested that you find something that would link two concepts together. One of the main things to remember on Wikipedia is that you cannot make any links, connections, or conclusions of your own - anything of that nature will have to have already been explicitly stated in a reliable source by someone deemed to be an authority. It's something that can get pretty frustrating at times, honestly, but the basic gist of Wikipedia is that we're summing up stuff that other people have already written rather than making our own work. I've written a bit about this here, about the difference between academic papers and Wikipedia articles. If you have done anything like that, no worries and don't feel bad - it's a hard thing to get used to on here. It took me more than a few months to really get the hang of the difference myself, when I began editing.
