It appears that you are still coping and pasting material directly from other articles as you create these new articles on former Ohio state highways without providing full attribution of the source. Again please read Copying within Wikipedia and provide the source of where you are getting your text. Most of these highways were not really notable enough for a full article at the time I created the list articles; unless you are adding significantly new information to these former roads, I would suggest keeping the lists as they are unless there is a wealth of new or uncovered info to split into an article. —Mr. Matté (Talk/Contrib) 17:02, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Former Ohio state routes

In short, I'm redirecting all of them back to their places in the lists for a couple of reasons.

  1. The content for each is rather short now, meaning you've created 20 stubs. None of the new articles expands upon the content in the lists, so we're saying the same thing in two places, and it's just plain easier to maintain the few list articles that hundreds of new stubs.
  2. The content for each was copied and pasted out of the lists and into the separate articles. That's problematic for copyright/licensing reasons if you don't do it properly.

Those lists are a valid way to handle the topic. We even have a project guideline on them call the "Rockland County Scenario" at WP:USRD/RCS. Imzadi 1979 → 04:23, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Links in List of State Routes in Ohio

Hi, I see you've been contributing to this list. One problem you may already have noticed is that links like Ohio State Route 6 are not helpful to readers because that route number has been used more than once, and each of the routes that bore that number is described in a different Wikipedia article. I've already fixed the links to this particular route number by adding the "dab" parameter to each {{Routelist row}} template. I don't see that discussion; are you referring to Sugested Merge of Articles to List of heads of state of France? My main reservation is that your edit left most of the section headers in tact, but stripped most of the content leaving many sections blank. Ah, I see now; thanks for clearing that up. Hmm, that is a pickle; on the one hand the article is certainly large and unwieldy, and on the other hand removing the listing content leaves large holes in the article with those empty sections headers... Plus I imagine there will be some readers of the article that would like to see a chronological list of heads without diving through all the dynasty pages.
The way I see it, the article loses a lot of it's purpose if the content is stripped out and left with the section headers and the current short descriptions alone; I don't see that as a viable option, do you? We could have a short description with a main for those that don't already have it, like Robertian dynasty; really that should all be main linked in any case. Alternatively we could just collapse the lists, as shown in my sandbox. What do you think? Nigholith (talk) 08:37, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

I agree; implemented. We also have a side-effect of all the merging done on that page, the talk page is linking to Talk:List of Presidents of France, which is perhaps why the conversation on your linked discussion has dried up; I'll look into fixing that.
Might I also suggest that for future edits you describe your intent in the edit summary, ideally with a link to the talk-page conversation if applicable? The lack of an edit summary—as in your first edit on the page—raises red flags for people like me who review edits. Anyway, glad we could find a solution to this problem. Thanks! Infobox browsers

Per WP:USRD/STDS, the browser is supposed to point to the previous and next state highway numbers regardless of type. We don't split them up by I/US/SR types, and instead mix all three types of state highways together in one long chain. This has been the way it's been done for many years, so if you wish to change that, I'd suggest that you open a discussion about changing the project standards.

Additionally, if the browsers are listed outside of the infobox, they'd be put at the very bottom of the article, not at the bottom of a state-specific section. In theory, the RD isn't the part of a national-level article that pertains to a state as the history and RJL sections should have content about that highway in a state too. I will consider opening a discussion, because it sounds like putting route lists for Interstates, US Routes, and state routes all on one page. (Also, with the current standards, that means I have roughly 700 state route articles to correct now)

It's only the browsers, not the individual list pages that are impacted. For example, List of Interstate Highways in Michigan, List of U.S. Highways in Michigan and List of state trunklines in Michigan are still separate, but M-1 (Michigan highway) points forward to U.S. Route 2 in Michigan as the next article, and back to Interstate 696 as the previous one. This pattern of using the next number in numerical order, applying the standard Interstate–US–state precedence continues throughout the collection of articles on state highways. (Also, don't reply in the middle of someone's comments as it disconnects the first paragraph of my comments from my signature and could confuse other editors later as to who was exactly saying what.) Revert

Regarding this reversion, you don't seem to know why I had changed that back. In short, according to MOS:RJL, the shields are supposed to appear as a group at the front of the line, not in the middle of the line. By splitting that into two invocations of {{jct}}, you make the I-271 shield appear in the middle of the line in violation of the MOS, yet by merging them back together, it appears at the front where it is supposed to be. Also, we don't need to use the I-480N shield at the top of the infobox for the Interstate list for Ohio. The designation is not recognized by FHWA, just ODOT, and FHWA (along with AASHTO) is in charge of recognizing Interstate Highway designations. As I understand it, the shield is only used on the enhanced mile markers. It's not used as full-size reassurance markers nor on guide signage, so it's essentially as unsigned as the now-former M-554 (which only appeared on two street blades in its brief existence). Two markers, one each for two- and three-digit examples is plenty, unless we're displaying a small chronological assortment or including business routes. Imzadi 1979 → 17:08, 31 December 2015 (UTC)

@NBA2030 Here you lack to explain why your edits are really needed, since it was promptly fixed by Imzadi1979 (With the formatting). Since you have a proven history of leaving out citations and consistantly reverting articles to your content without consensus, further actions will be treated as vandalism under the WP:3RR policy. With all due respect, that is absolutely ludicrous. It is not vandalism what I did. I put in citations all the time, and no one has objected to my revisions until now. With regards to the I-294 article, I was simply cleaning it up and revising the history section to make more sense (I included some new citations FYI). @NBA2030 I didn't say it was vandalism, I said it was just fixed by the very person that already told you the formatting had to be different. And yet you revert it back anyway. Again, until now, no one has objected to my edits. It was a couple of (really minor) formatting errors that could be fixed without reverting the entire article. My edits were focused on cleaning up the history section and removing redundant and irrelevant information. Please avoid changing "Trump" to "Drumpf"

Hi Cards84664. In one of your recent edits, you changed the word "Trump" to "Drumpf". I assume that this was unintentional and caused by having the Drumpfinator extension enabled. Revision undo?

Hi, I'd like to know if there was a reason that my edits on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_69_in_Texas#Exit_list were undid by you? I'm fairly new to editing on Wikipedia and only pretty much use the visual editor, so I'd like to know if I have done something wrong. I was about to add a few more when I noticed it was missing. OH Turnpike Exit 218

But the signs at this Google Street View post-Toll Plaza, exiting off the Turnpike, have the control city for I-76W at Akron, I-80E as Youngstown. The control cities for the reverse directions are "Penna Tpk" and Cleveland, respectively. No Niles going eastbound or westbound on the Turnpike itself.

Also are you seriously contending that I-80E at Exit 218 is signed for Cleveland and Toledo? CaradhrasAiguo (talk) 16:34, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Ohio Route 2 in Cleveland's Public Square

Do you have evidence that the modern SR-2 (as opposed to the original SR-2 which was replaced by US-20 when the U.S. highway system was created) ever made it to Public Square? If so, please add it to the Public Square article. It can't be ODH's maps since I just checked ODOT's archive and those are too vague, at least the fronts of them which are only what ODOT posted online.

From what I know, the Memorial Shoreway wasn't done until the 30s, so the only reasonable explanation is that SR 2 was in the square from 1926 to 1930-1935. What I'm also researching is that there was a SR 2 alt on lakeside from W 6th to East 9th, but I'm not mentioning it until I can figure out how long it was there. The pre-US highway SR 2 did not terminate there. It took the same route that the new US 20 took from the Toledo area east to Pennsylvania. Arkansas highways

Hi. I'm not sure what's going on with List of Arkansas state highways, but here are the maps I used to discover Highway 19.

As you can see, Highway 19 existed on the map for only a year before being replaced by Highway 127 between Old Alabam and Forum, which remains today. It was probably renumbered since there already was a Highway 19 in South Arkansas, and they didn't like to duplicate back then. Although it seems odd, the Highway 14 entry I added to the table seems correct. Let me know if you disagree. Brandonrush (talk) 20:08, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
