A summary of some important site policies and guidelines[edit]

"Truth" is not the only criteria for inclusion, verifiability is also required.
Always cite a source for any new information. When adding this information to articles, use <ref>reference tags like this</ref>, containing the name of the source, the author, page number, publisher or web address (if applicable).
We do not publish original thought nor original research. We're not a blog, we're not here to promote any ideology.
Primary sources are usually avoided to prevent original research. Secondary or tertiary sources are preferred for this reason as well.
Reliable sources typically include: articles from magazines or newspapers (particularly scholarly journals), or books by recognized authors (basically, books by respected publishers). Online versions of these are usually accepted, provided they're held to the same standards. User generated sources (like Wikipedia) are to be avoided. Self-published sources should be avoided except for information by and about the subject that is not self-serving (for example, citing a company's website to establish something like year of establishment).
Articles are to be written from a neutral point of view. Wikipedia is not concerned with facts or opinions, it just summarizes reliable sources. Real scholarship actually does not say what understanding of the world is "true," but only with what there is evidence for. In the case of science, this evidence must ultimately start with physical evidence. In the case of religion, this means only reporting what has been written and not taking any stance on doctrine.
Assume other editors are here to help as much as is possible.

Your user page[edit]

Hello, Christian Mythology. I suggest that you might want to move the content on your user page to a sandbox. You can create your own sandbox by clicking here, adding text, and saving the page. I appreciate that you note on your user page that it is a user page and not an article, but it is still confusing to people not familiar with Wikipedia, and in any case, user pages are not meant to indefinitely store content that looks as though it should be an article. I read your reply on my talk page. I respectfully suggest that you reconsider. I am not going to unilaterally remove content from your user page, which, after all, is your page. However, I or another user might decide to nominate it for deletion. If this happens, please respond calmly. Such a decision is not personal, and it is not directed against you. A few things you've gotten wrong on your user page:

It's not "The Ghost," it's "Holy Ghost" or "Holy Spirit." And a number of theologians have explained this: the Holy Spirit is regarded by theologically educated Christians as the immanent facet of God (where the Father is the transcendent and the Son the manifest). Ignorance of theology does not amount to facts about mythology.
"The Devil" (title with an upper case D) is generally regarded as a title for Satan, not as a subservient being and not as a proper name. Only the lowercase "devils" (no "The") are regarded as a class of beings subservient to Satan (not as a unique singular henchman).
"May be that explains why hell lot of the Myths believers have mental and physical deformities" - you can't deny a cake exists and eat it, too.

Also, the ad nauseam editorializing, including the repeated use of "imaginary" and "obviously," plus the argumenta ad lapidem, and straw men errors over basic matters makes the whole thing more like a blog by a teenager trying to rebel against a lax evangelical upbringing by imitating their favorite New Atheist authors, instead of a neutral summary of professionally published mainstream academic and journalistic sources. You are perfectly welcome to express your beliefs and opinion on your user page, but as FreeKnowledgeCreator has started to point out, it is ill-advised to present those beliefs as facts (much less as The Only Divine Truth for which denial is damnable), especially when one has made no useful contributions to the site and seems to be using their page user page as a webhost. I do not think that it serves a useful purpose to argue with Christian Mythology about the accuracy or inaccuracy of the content on his user page. The bottom line is that the content is dubiously appropriate to an encyclopedia-creating project, and nominating the page for deletion becomes an option if Christian Mythology will not respond to suggestions to move the content to a sandbox or remove it from his user space altogether. Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because it is a user page and users are free to manage their own page as long as the content they post on their page is not in any way spreading intolerance of any kind which the user who have nominated my page for deletion is doing. --Christian Mythology (talk) 15:15, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Question: Show me where it policy it states "users are free to manage their own page as long as the content they post on their page is not in any way spreading intolerance...?" What I see is two editors above who let you know that your user page is not to be used for Webhosting and other activities that are not for purposes compatible with the Wikipedia project.VViking_TalkEdits 15:19, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page (which told people what to believe and not believe) claimed that a third of the world's population is brain damaged because of their belief system -- if that was not promoting intolerance, then there is no such thing as intolerance. That denial, combined with your claiming that it wasn't propaganda (despite it telling readers what to believe and not believe), your mistakes over basic ideas in Christian mythology (and refusal to even acknowledge them), all make it pretty hard to not conclude that you're a troll. Even if you were editing in good faith, then you lack the capacity to edit cooperatively and productively. If you were editing in good faith and wish to appeal, your surest bet is to assume that all site members are here to help and actually know at least as much as you do about how things work here, listen to users who have been here longer than you instead of arguing with them, do not try to blame anyone or anything for this block except your own behavior, and agree to a topic ban on all religion related articles. Christian Mythology, if you wish to be unblocked, then agreeing to a topic ban from religion related articles, as suggested above by Ian.thomson, would be a good idea. If you choose to request an unblock, then it might also be a good idea to promise to change your user name in the unblock request. See WP:CHU.
