Charles Borromeo

The Charles Borromeo page was renamed without any discussion. Please restore Charles Borromeo (Italian saint) to its original name. Even if the other article about the Indian athlete is found to be notable, the renaming should be handled differently and not simply by a single user's fiat. For example, perhaps the {{moveto}} template should have been used to alert people that a major chnage to a major saint was about to be made. --evrik ^(talk) 15:09, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

• I did a google search on Charles Borromeo. I wasn't trying to make a WP:POINT. While the athlete may be notable in some fashion, the saint's article was renamed, and a disambig page was made for an article that was less than a stub. I think it was more disruptive to have made that unilateral move. It is notable for being a building and Monument historique by architect Hector Guimard, and other reasons too that I don't know yet. The article needs better vocabulary though, and yes sources. I'll look into sources and names, if you do the vocab? Consistoire, cultuel, and liturgiques, all sound very Catholic to me when they should sound Jewish. I just found an even smaller version pl:Synagoga de la rue Pavée w Paryżu. Here's another one I want to bring over next fr:Synagogue de la rue des Tournelles à Paris. So far I've just found this in Paris travel guides. I'm sure it is in some of my architecture books, but they're all boxed up and my nearest library sucks. How about this [1] ? It is named Agudath Hakehilot and called the largest synagogue in the Pletzl (the yiddish speaking district in Paris). request move

i am doing a revamp on allot of the jewish community articles. i.e. 'history of french jews' has been moved to 'french jewery'. In other words i would like the articles on each of the communities to be more in touch with what they are now and their demographics, and to have a history paragraph/s like in any article.

now i would like to move 'british jews' to 'British Jewry' but i need admin rights. please assist.

Jewry

This statement is ignorance of the highest order. The articles the way they are titled is simply bad English. British Jews for example is not English, British Jewry, is English and is a term used every week in Newspapers here such as the Jewish Tribune amongst many others. British and American Jewry dont exist anymore, they have been changed back to 'British Jews' etc. These terms are clearly not gramaticly correct.

I made a new category to replace the confusing "[Country] Jews" category which has been here for a number of years. Hi. You were very constructive in mediating a dispute I was involved in on the Mark Levin Talk Page some months back. There is currently an reversion war taking place on the Rush Limbaugh page regarding an incident where he insulted the looks of the pre-adolescent Chelsea Clinton on his national television show.

A group of pro-Limbaugh editors has been removing the material from the page, often dismissing arguments to keep the section, or proclaiming that "consensus has been reached" when the discussion is still taking place.

I've just learned a new word :-) I would argue that it is similar to Content Management System which already exists in Wikipedia, however, Tour Management Systems are specifically designed for tour companies the same way e-commerce solutions are designed for retailers. The problem is that well established historical facts are not in the article; in the historical literature, this is not a controversial subject. However, while you were indenting the "meatpuppets" on the discussion page, you forgot a few: User:AJMS (who's only contribution to Wikipedia has been to nominate the article for deletion) and User:Notth (who made fewer than three other edits to Wikipedia, ever.) If you're going to be a fair admin, you can't only point out the new accounts voting to keep, you must please, in the future, acknowledge those voting to delete as well. I rather agreed with the point you made at Ardo's talk page and even with the stridency with which you made it, although I thought you might better have set forth what it was that you thought to be wrong with his application of speedy tags, as well you have done now. Thanks for your note. Seems to be passing OK anyway. 17-4 at this point. That's what I love about Wikipedia-- important decisons are made by consensus. Consensus, and AfD in particular, may not be perfect, but it works better than a lot of other decison making processes.
