A page you created, Saturday Walkers' Club, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is very short and provides little or no context.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Thank you. Fumitol|talk|cont 17:11, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Saturday Walkers' Club has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:ORG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Addressing concerns reference proposed for deletion of Saturday Walkers' Club[edit]

I have deleted the wp_del tag just to buy some time while I try and address the issues.

The original text was restricted on Saturday Walkers' Club (SWC) as did not want it to come across as a advertising - just basic information.

If the feeling is that this is just a group of friends meeting up socially every week. Then definitely not the case. Often tourists / visitors to London come along. Open to all, not a restrictive club with membership fees etc. In fact many walking group use our books / downloads for walks of their own, however we are not a walking club in the conventional sense. Feel SWC is very unique as a walking group. This unique difference as briefly detailed in the entry, may give just reason as to why it should be on Wikipedia. (Suggest explore SWC website.)

The Time Out Country walking books would not exist without the SWC members who devised the walks in the published books plus the many downloads available from the SWC website. Whilst the walking books are not #1 best sellers, they consistently sell over the years and have never been out of print. A new revision of both books is due out in Spring 2011

No longer an orphan. Links within Wikipedia to SWC.

At least two articles in Time Out magazine -although cannot locate on the web, do have copy date and issue. Ditto with a couple of national newspaper articles a few years ago.

Anyway if you review the changes and still feel that it is not a candidate OR needs changes to bring it up to wiki standards then can take heed.

Meantime will take note of help guidance for article creation and work on improving article. Davidacooke 18:15, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
