Question About Not Using Youtube For References

Thanks for your feedback on not using Youtube as a reference. I do note that under some circumstances we are allowed to cite using videos as references. The primary video sources I use are from establish news agencies in South Africa. I will ensure I fix the citation for the source and not use the Youtube information. Please clarify the reason for the decline of this article. I have endeavoured to adhere to all wikipedia's guidelines and rules. I believe the content of the article (the businessman Danny Lucas) is of suitable notability. I have provided numerous quality references and ensured the article is unbiased, accurate and fair.

Thanks in advance

Hey! thanks for reaching out. Please write the headlines of the sources provided as it has been published. You are altering and inventing your own headlines for the sources. And where is the source for his birth date? How would I know that he is married and has 2 children? If there is no reliable source available for these contents, please remove it. Minor layout fixes have been done by me. However, fix these issues and it shall be good to go. Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 21:48, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

No, I am not Gaurav Agarwal, but know him and have worked with him. From my side, I have made it quite neutral and if you find anything odd, please feel free to modify and delete the things. I want to bring to your notice that people known to me who have lesser credentials are there on wikipedia. Gaurav Agarwal surely deserves to be on wikipedia.

Hey! I can understand your enthusiasm and admiration out of which you began creating this draft. However, the subject does not appear to be notable as per our standards. If this person is notable, someone more experienced at writing Wikipedia articles would create his page sooner or later. If you really want to write it yourself, I suggest you improve your article and its sources. Dial911 (talk) 23:21, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

00:16:49, 22 January 2018 review of submission by Sunline Fan

Hi, I have edited my article per your comments. I removed a lot of unnecessary detail and added many more citations. I can see how you would think some of it was considered promotional, so I reworded to change that. Please let me know if you think anything left still has that feel so I can change it. I'm not sure what you mean about improving the tone, was it to remove the promotion? The only connection I have to the subject is that I'm a historian on the subject and hold a huge collection of memorabilia and literature on the subject. I was never an employee of the company and never had any financial ties to it. Additionally, I'm not an employee or financially tied to Social Knowledge or the owner's club. It's simply a hobby of mine.

Please advise how I should disclose this connection or if I need to. Thanks!

Sunline Fan (talk) 00:16, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

Hey! there is too much of extra details that are supplemented by primary sources such as press releases and their own website sunlineclub.com; You need to remove that extra content as Wikipedia is not a place for writing essays. I did not even find one national or regional newspaper covering this company in detail. Dial911 (talk) 02:06, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

I made significant changes as suggested by you and resubmitted for review. Could you please review it and do the needfull. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Alok_R_Babu

What significant have you changed? I don't see any substantial changes. You have to remove all capital words, improve the tone as well. 'has done 25 plus movies...' is not the way an encyclopedic entry reads like. Read other related articles to get a better idea. Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 05:24, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

{{SAFESUBST:Void,

Dear Dial911, Thank you for your helpful comments. I have added two extra paragraphs (with secondary sources) which I hope will establish that the painter has an acceptable degree of notability. Ideally I would like to find a contemporary obituary in a local paper. I will keep looking! If I get over this hurdle, I will endeavour to improve the references. Pointing out an example of the problem, however, would be appreciated. Regards BFP1BFP1 (talk) 15:45, 25 January 2018 (UTC) BFP1 (talk) 15:45, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Also, I have just thought that the inclusion of many of the painter's works in UK public collections (see external sources) suggests notability. Maybe this should have been included in the text? Regards BFP1BFP1 (talk) 16:14, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

There already exists an article on James Madison Pendleton, a contemporary of William Calmes Buck. In 1849, Pendleton and Buck debated the issue of slavery in various publications. I’ve added this topic to the Pendleton article as well as an additional reference - previously there was only one reference. I then linked the topic to the William Calmes Buck article.

I also added the slavery topic to the William Calmes Buck article and linked it to the Pendleton article. I then added additional references and links to the Buck article.

Clearly, I do not understand how to proper work with references.

I hope that these revisions are satisfactory and that the Buck article is now acceptable.

Dear Dial911,

Thank you for reviewing the article. However, I have a question about the decline of the submission. It was declined before by Kvng on 31 October for a similar reason. After asking about the reasons why he added the following comment for the next reviewer. "The author has alerted me that, in my review, I may have overlooked the extensive sources supplied in the Further reading section ~Kvng (talk) 16:46, 26 November 2017 (UTC)" Can you review your decline with his information left by Kvng.

All my best.

I've generally changed the references and minimized references to WCBs memoirs. However, I note that the references used are themselves strongly based on his memoirs. It seemed better to me to use the original source.

Although I am a descendant of WCB, I don't really consider myself to have a conflict of interest. However, in filling out the forms to create the article, I felt forced to mark conflict of interest.

I hope that these revisions are satisfactory and that the Buck article is now acceptable.

Draft:Kai Lossgott

Hi Dial911,

This is my first time creating a Wiki page, so I am a bit ignorant about the various rules and nomenclature! Your feedback was: You should include prominent sources and work in the format of the submission. What constitutes prominent sources, and what do you mean by 'work in the format of the submission'? Thank you for your patience!

Best,

Nlatoyas (talk) 21:17, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

You must provide independent and reliable secondary sources. I don’t see any newspaper and/or news coverages or any peer-reviewed journal that discusses this person in detail. Blogs, interviews, personal websites and other primary sources are not suitable for referencing. Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 22:56, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Suggestion regarding deletion and changing of page to Draft:Mona Mathews

Hi, I understand you have deleted the page and moved it into draft due to issues with references. I read about providing "Self-published or questionable sources as sources on themselves". So can I use this criteria to provide reference as of now or could you suggest me how I could reference the page better so that you will give me approval and help me pin point to the exact issue so that I can rectify the same for your approval hence not resulting in page deletion in the future. I really want to get it right before I submit for another review. Thanks in advance.

Mm fantastic (talk) 02:16, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for reaching out. Read WP:COI WP:PAID first. You must disclose any affiliation with the subject. As far as references and verifiability are concerned, see WP:GNG WP:NACTOR. Feel free to ask anything you wish to ask. Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 02:23, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks for the recommendation. I went through the material as you said and those are little bit difficult to understand. The thing is I am not paid to create a page on behalf of the person. I am just a fan who constantly follows the work and was really thrilled to start a wiki page about the person and this is the only page I have written. After I wrote to you I added more references than what I could manage previously. So can you kindly please check whether the references added are enough and what all I could do to get it published back again cause everything written there is fact. Thanks again.

Mm fantastic (talk) 02:36, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Mm fantastic, There are no reliable sources provided. Is there any newspaper article about the person? Or news channel coverage? Dial911 (talk) 15:24, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

Dear Dial911, The data provided there is all true and I have referenced the links to the information as much I can as you asked earlier. There is no newspaper article or news channel coverage on the person until now. Do I have to wait till something like that appears or is there any alternatives. Also please do help if you could tell me if I have to wait for news coverage. How much days this page will remain without getting lost in the draft section of Wikipedia. Thanks in advance. (Mm fantastic (talk) 15:34, 14 March 2018 (UTC))

Mm fantastic, if the person does not have any significant coverage in secondary and reliable sources, their article can’t be on Wikipedia. I suggest you wait until Mona really becomes notable as per our policies. To prevent the draft from being deleted, don’t let it sit idle for more than 6 months. You can add reliable references, improve the tone of the article and/or provode more information about the person. Just don’t abandon it for more than 6 months. Drafts are generally deleted after 6 months of complete inactivity. Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 15:54, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

Draft: Krishan A. Canekeratne

Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate the time and guidance. I wanted to follow up for clarity because another editor had told me to remove the inline citation from the page. I added them in as footnotes as you can see below. I will add in more footnote citations to the eight that are already there as I believe that is what you are asking for.

Thanks again!

Greenough Ben (talk) 22:35, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Hey! that editor told you to remove inline external links. External links are those which take you outside of Wikipedia. Whereas, I am telling you to provide inline citations. Citations are references from which the content is derived for an article. Your draft does not have enough citations after lines and paragraphs. This does not allow us to verify the content. Thus, you should add more citations inside the article so that I can know what is written and based on what source. Dial911 (talk) 23:26, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

Request on 22:10:26, 17 February 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Tokyoyo

Hi Dial!

Super weird but the article Draft:St.Yesterday you reviewed should never have been submitted, the draft is not completed and it looks like an unregistered edit was made to the page pushing it into afc prematurely. I've never had a draft get high jacked like that so it's pretty odd. On a side note there was an actual article waiting for review that's been in limbo for quite some time if you feel like checking it out at Draft:Slash Puppet

Tokyoyo (talk) 22:10, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Tokyoyo, anyone is allowed to submit a draft for review if they think it is worth submitting. Additionally, a decline is not the end of the world and largely doesn't affect future reviews. Primefac (talk) 22:33, 17 February 2018 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
Primefac, thanks for replying to the user. Dial911 (talk) 22:43, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Regarding archiving

The easiest (in my opinion) way to archive threads is to use Lowercase sigmabot III's archiving tools (some use ClueBot III but I find it a bit too convoluted). The long and the short would be to place the following code at the top of your talk page:

{{User:MiszaBot/config
| algo = old(15d)
| archive = User talk:Dial911 /Archive %(counter)d
| counter = 1
| maxarchivesize = 120K
| archiveheader       = {{Talk archive navigation}}
| minthreadstoarchive = 2
| minthreadsleft = 4
}}

The various params are fairly self-explanatory; the only one that's not "what it says on the tin" is |algo=, which is the "age" of the text before it's archived. I'd suggest a histmerge between your two existing archives and renaming one of them to User talk:Dial911 /Archive 1 so that when the bot starts archiving it puts everything where everything else is. Happy to help out with that.

Let me know if you have any further questions. Primefac (talk) 04:48, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

I have put the script on my talk page. Will ask you in case I need help with something else. Thanks so much. Dial911 (talk) 05:13, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

Page for Yashita Sharma

Hi - I have created the page for Yashita Sharma who is an upcoming singer in India. She has sung many songs for Indian movies some of them being top chart busters. Hence I believe that her having a permanent page on Wikipedia is pertinent. Also there are already 21 other articles on Wikipedia which mention Yashita and would benefit from linking to Yashita Sharma's page (once created on Wikipedia). You can check the articles mentioning her here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=Yashita+Sharma&go=Go Kindly move the page from Draft to permanent status. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kulkarninikhil (talkcontribs) 12:57, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

"person in-depth" ?!

Hello Dial911, I have read your comment stating a need for references which discuss "the person in depth and not just their work". I do not understand the comment please. As a phd student I have never come across an official pair-reviewed book/journal which discuss a 'person', such references only discuss the 'ideas' or 'works' of a person...unless it is a biography novel, or indeed newspaper journalistic interviews and articles. Newspaper journals and media interviews have indeed been provided rather extensively (countries include UK, China, Russia, Malta, Pakistan, Argentina, European base, Kosovo, US base + quotes from established international personages). So I am confused what the comment is about please, if you could kindly clarify. Thanks a lot in advance. Lidasher

@Lidasher: To have a stand-alone article on Wikipedia about themself, a person must have significant coverage in independent, reliable and secondary sources. If reliable sources talk about the works of that person, it is advised to have an encyclopedic entry about their work and not them. Lida must pass WP:GNG. See WP:42 for your knowledge. Also, are you Lida yourself, or associated with Lida in any way? You should disclose your association with her. Thanks for reaching out. Dial911 (talk) 21:42, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello Dial911, thanks for reply. The article is about the 'painter' so, the focus is more the art. Does that work please? I mean should the word "painter" be in the title you mean in this case? Regarding disclosing association, yes I included the standard COI Template to disclose it.Lidasher

@Lidasher: I do not wish to review your draft. That is why I just left that comment. However, me not reviewing it does not prevent other reviewers from accepting/declining it. Dial911 (talk) 21:57, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

21:55:02, 20 February 2018 review of submission by Tokyoyo

Hi Dial,

Just wanted to follow up on Draft:Slash Puppet - I re-cited a number of sources to give info to the original publication/air date. Due to the age of the group and the rapid change in the Canadian music market during that time many of the original sources from MuchMusic and CHUM are difficult to recover so I tracked down archived sources for their various award shows and referenced them according to WP:YOUTUBE with one additional source made from an official Facebook account (adhering to WP:FACEBOOK), that said most of the additional main sources come from magazines (Bravewords was published physically for years however finding archived copies is difficult so I sourced the web articles that are still archived), books, and television media. In regards to WP:42 and notability this group meets several requirements of WP:BAND including; multiple non-trivial published works, winning first place in two major music competitions (Toronto Music Awards, LA Music Awards), being placed in heavy rotation nationally by major radio and music television networks (CHUM, Much), and has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across national TV networks (CHUM, MUCH, MusiquePlus).

I'd appreciate a re-review (understandably my sources could have been cited better - those are now fixed) but I firmly believe this group meets several requirements for notability and definitely left their mark on the Canadian music scene during their time (during my source hunting I even turned up a video of Skid Row taking about the group - fun but not used in the article)

Cheers, Tokyoyo (talk) 21:55, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Dear Dial911,

I would like to ask what specific sources are to be done in this article.

I have provided almost every academical work or article about the F. G. Emmert and specifically listed the definite pages of works listed. It is unfortunate that there are not English articles or works about this composer so sources have to be in Czech.

I will be more than happy to develop the article, so I am asking you for your specific demands.

Thank you for your time. 85.71.106.115 (talk) 21:17, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

L.redd, The subject is not notable enough to be included in the encyclopedia at the moment. I don't see any significant coverage of the subject in independent reliable and secondary sources. Also, your submission reads like a personal journal and not an encyclopedic article. Improve referencing and provide more inline citations. Dial911 (talk) 21:23, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Jamie langton

Hello Dial911. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Jamie langton, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The subject is described as directing numerous notable television series and winning numerous awards. This is miles away from A7 eligibility. Thank you. – Joe (talk) 15:19, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Joe Roe, Ah! I performed a google search to see what comes up and didn’t find anything at first. I think I searched the wrong person/name (too many tabs opened on my PC). Thanks for the information. Dial911 (talk) 15:58, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

− − Hi, this was a joint effort between representation and myself. If this still fits in to your guidelines I can supply most information to back up my vast programme experience please do let me know what else you would like to see. Here is a link to one of my shows that received an RTS award last year. https://rts.org.uk/award/regional-awards-north-west-2017 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamie Langton (talkcontribs) 17:13, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Jamie Langton, your submission has been converted into draft where you can work on it, provide proper inline citation, disclose your conflict of interest regarding this submission, disclose any paid transactions (if any) with your representative and then submit it for review. Dial911 (talk) 18:09, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

− − I've never seen a site so complicated to use, in particular finding simple explanation of rules and regulations and to communicate with moderators. For your information, I did not pay anyone to write the article it's a factual biographical! To be honest, whilst I appreciate anyone can write anything they like if you let them, as a writer of thousands of hours of primetime TV, news and BBC Watchdog (I know the importance of getting facts right) I'm insulted by wikipedia's attitude with regards to my professional background and standing even after supplying several sources for your cross reference as requested. Perhaps you can tell me how you can cross check your facts on anyone on Wikipedia and define a reliable source? I'm impressed by you being so thorough about facts on simple individuals, however whilst working in TV I've heard of several production companies refusing to use Wikipedia as a reference for things like 'processes' as they feel it's often not an accurate source. On that note, may I suggest as a moderator perhaps you could please at least check you have the right name when researching someone. I will look at escalating my view on this matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamie Langton (talkcontribs) 18:44, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Jamie Langton, Please don’t get frustrated because you can’t get an article about yourself on Wikipedia easily. We need significant coverage of the subject in secondary, reliable sources such as newspapers, news, books etc. You can work on your draft and then submit it for review. Remember to provide inline citations as well. Besides, creating your own article on Wikipedia is generally not appreciated. Dial911 (talk) 19:04, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Jamie Langton Perhaps as an administrator who frequently deals with matters like this I can explain a little further. Everything Dial911 has said is a correct statement of our established policy. This is an encyclopedia , but the material is contributed by various people wiwth various degrees of knowledge. Even when the contributor provides their real name, we have no way of knowing if that is accurate. This is especially true for biographies of living people, where there has sometimes been impersonation, and where such impersonation can cause great harm to the individual. Therefore, biographies in particular must have sources, ideally for every individual fact. The policy here is WP:BLP.

Nor can you source material based on your personal knowledge, even about your own career. You might know that you are being accurate, but the reader has no way of knowing that. As a work of reference, we therefore need published sources, so the reader can investigate further on their own. These must furthermore be sources written by third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements nor your own interviews. None of those are necessarily totally objective and reliable especially in making judgements--they can be used for the bare facts of a career, but not for anything requiring any degree of evaluation or interpretation. The only thing your own statements about yourself can be used are to establish is what you choose to say about your opinions--and even that must be sourced so people can check. Even were you to publish your autobiography with a reputable publisher, we would still need to specifically reference everything taken from it, so people would know the source--surely as a writer you know that autobiographies are to some extent what the person wishes to say about themselves, not necessarily what someone unconnected would say. The policy for all this is WP:RS

We strongly discourage autobiographies. SeeWP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY for the policy. No person, however careful, is a reliable judge of their own significance, or a judge of how their life and career can be appropriately presented in an encyclopedia. (for example, we do not include the commercials you have directed or produced, nor do we include nominations for awards--except for awards like the Oscar. It would be much better to wait until someone unconnected who knows of your work wishes to write an article.)

Mr. Langton, you said above "this was a joint effort between representation and myself " ; but you also say " I did not pay anyone to write the article". The two statements are incompatible. Given your profession you undoubtedly have an agent, and presumably also PR consultants. We consider these as people paid by you, and to the extent they wrote any part of the article, they too must declare according to our policy WP:COI and our WP:Terms of Use. Additionally, we have a rule that only individuals may edit; we therefore need to know for each part of the article who wrote what, to the extent it can be disentangled. You must add this information to the talk page of the draft.

As you say, WP is generally regarded as not totally accurate. We are trying to make it more accurate, and this necessarily require appropriate guidelines which indeed can be complicated. We therefore do not usually reject work that can be improved to meet the guidelines, unless it breeches one of our basic policies or the terms of use. Rather, the experienced contributors here and especially the administratorstry to explain the rules to you so you can comply with them. DGG ( talk ) 20:42, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

I've just returned from filming in Nicaragua (can supply proof of this if you wish) so have only just taken a closer look at all of your replies, I think you are overrating yourselves.

Frankly I'm appalled and somewhat insulted by the tone of the patronising and arrogant, in particular the reference to ones own significance, comments and sincerely hope these are not available for public viewing as they are bordering on slander? I have been in this business for 30 years as a producer and director, but these arrogant replies by you all make me sound like some kind of groupie in search of stardom. FYI many people request information on me so using something on Wikipedia makes sense in that it's available in one place. As a programme maker and even former producer of the BBC's Watchdog programme, I'm fully aware about the importance of cross referencing facts. I'm sorry Wiki is only interested in known names as it clearly doesn't trust anyone else.

The rude and un-nescacary comment about ..."No person, however careful, is a reliable judge of their own significance, or a judge of how their life and career I find very offensive as this was not the reasons behind my article. Despite the fact I've told you I have not paid anyone to write something, you are claiming I must also have an agent? Whilst I appreciate you have a procedure to follow, the tone and content of all of your replies are totally offensive and not something I expect from an organisation like Wikipedia. I want to take this further so will be taking advice on your replies which have been screen grabbed. Please supply me with contact details for someone I can escalate this with.

While we are on the subject of fact checking, I notice you have failed this with a page on Educating Essex in which you state David Clews is the director. I was the gallery director for 7 weeks and directed 65 cameras, whilst I appreciate David was the 'series director' I directed the gallery which you seem to have failed to mention. So with that in mind, who supplied you with that information as it's clearly incorrect please check the end credits for this first of the 'Educating' documentaries.

DGG, thanks so much for explaining him things in a better way! Dial911 (talk) 20:47, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
I declined Shuchi Singh Kalra. The article asserts the person wrote a published book and has stories in anthologies. This is enough to pass the speedy criterion of "no assertion of significance", though it might or might not be enough to pass AfD. DGG ( talk ) 05:47, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Cleanup Suggestions

I created a page of suggestions User:Legacypac/Cleanup_Guide#CSD_and_PROD_logging for ways to fill up your CSD log. A sea of red on your CSD log will be a powerful way to show you qualify for NPP. Speedy deletion declined: Swargakkunnile Kuriyakose

I've declined your G11 tag on Swargakkunnile Kuriyakose. The problem with the page is the complete lack of proper sources; but this does not, by itself, make the page promotional. G11 eligibility should be judged on the basis of the prose. In this case, tagging if for refimprove, and possibly sending it to AFD or PROD, would be a better move. Vanamonde (talk) 09:21, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

On further investigation, I have notified the creator about COI and PRODed the page myself; but please remember that even articles creator by editors with an undisclosed COI are not automatically G11 eligible; the criterion is deliberately defined very narrowly. Sorry its my mistake but the question is same how can a user create articles without any sources and without undergoing review? Please answer..Thankyou...! Binamra Deb (talk) 13:26, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

Articles without sources get deleted sooner or later. And there is a separate process for reviewing newly created articles that do not undergo AfC (draft submission). I would strongly recommend you to submit your draft first, as it is always better to create something that lasts and not something that is created instantly and is prone to deletion. However, you can create articles directly. There are many ways, but I think this one will be easier for you to understand.
  1. Edit your userpage with article’s name in [[]].
  2. You will see that article has turned red as there would be no page with that name on Wikipedia.
  3. Click on the red name and the editor will load automatically. Dial911 (talk) 15:19, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I saw you moved my article Yuva jet to the Draft space, which is perfectly fine no problem, the thing is there;s another article on an Indian airline which has just 2 references and is perfectly fine for notability? Note: The airline is similar to Yuva Jet i.e. yet to begin op's, based at a lesser known airport etc..Yuva Jet was deleted before and so was Star Air (India) but that's back and my article isn't. Fell kinda discriminated btw I'm in no way blaming you just told you my point! Happy editing to you! Bingobro (Chat) 11:08, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

Request on 09:22:49, 7 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Gnjoff

Hello, thank you most cordially for reviewing my first article. As I understood from your message there is a certain problem with the citations in Lede and Early life sections of the article. However, I went through some similar Wikipedia articles concerning the topic of contemporary Serbian writers/artists and I can't seem to find where exactly the mistakes were made. I am conflicted on how exactly I should cite the personal life information concerning the author's family or school, as well as what I should cite in Lede when plainly stating her professional vocation and titles of previously published books of which I write and cite in detail later on. Please, would you be so kind as to give me an exact example of how I should excel the article. Hopefully you can help me understand in which manner I should change the citations you find inadequate, or add them properly in order to meet the Wikipedia standards so that I could improve my writing concerning this article as well as the future ones. Thank you very much, best regards! Gnjoff (talk) 09:22, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

Gnjoff, thanks for reaching out. I wanted to verify personal life of the subject but couldn’t find any source for it. That is why I asked you to cite references for it. Biographies must have sources for whatever they claim. How can you know her personal life so precisely? Do you have any association with the subject? If you don’t have references, simply remove the content. Dial911 (talk) 03:09, 8 April 2018 (UTC)

AfD for Fastly

Hi Dial911,

Thanks for approving my Fastly page as part of the AfC process. It has now already been nominated for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fastly and I wanted to make sure you saw in case you were interested in adding any comments.

Thanks! --Sykes83 (talk) 01:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Sykes83, Everyone is free to do whatever they deem suitable for the ‘betterment’ of encyclopedia. If nominator thinks Fastly should undergo an AfD round, so be it. I have done my bit by approving it as Fastly, according to me is a notable corp. Dial911 (talk) 02:35, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer Flag

Hi, Dial911.
I've noticed that you are an AfC reviewer but don't yet have the New Page Reviewer flag. Can you please head over to PERM and request it?
As part of a larger plan to increase cooperation between New Page Patrol and Articles for creation, we are trying to get as many of the active AfC reviewers as possible under the NPR user flag (per this discussion). Unlike the AfC request list, the NPR flag carries no obligation to review new articles, so I'm not asking you to help out at New Page Patrol if you don't want to, just to request the flag.
Of course, if it is something you would be interested in, you can have a look at the NPP tutorial. Please mention that you are an active AfC reviewer in your application.
Cheers and thanks for helping out at AfC, — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 06:20, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Insertcleverphrasehere, I have requested it many times in the past. However, Wikipedia is now being run like a fiefdom by some administrators. and they would not show trust and confidence in me being a reviewer. So I don't know what to do. Thanks anyways. Dial911 (talk) 06:24, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
Sorry mate, was not aware. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 06:27, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
No worries . I will do whatever I can at AfC until I get bored of Wikipedia. I mean I want some new things to maintain my interest in improving this encyclopedia. They always find silly excuses to reject my request. In my opinion, user rights (including administrator rights) should follow 'very easy to get and very easy to lose' model so that users would be more cautious. But some policies are not flexible here. Anyways, I am glad someone at least thought that I could help at NPP. Dial911 (talk) 06:33, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
Insertcleverphrasehere, Should I ask them again? Dial911 (talk) 06:46, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
At your most recent request Kudpung asked that you wait until ACTRIAL goes live for good, which should be in another week or two, so you should probably do it then. I'd suggest explaining what you learned from the thing that Alex mentioned in his comment. Cheers, — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 06:55, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
Insertcleverphrasehere, Okay. I will wait for some time now. Dial911 (talk) 07:29, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Mettaton

Hello Dial911,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mettaton for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Alucard 16, Why would you leave me a note? I have nothing to do with this article. Dial911 (talk) 10:39, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't mean to I tagged the article via the Page Curation tool and it automatically leaves a message to the author of the page. I guess where you moved the original article to draftspace it left you the message because of the redirect. I'm sorry again for the mix up.♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 10:41, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Alucard 16, No worries mate! Dial911 (talk) 11:28, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Follow up

I sincerely hope you are not discouraged by all of the setbacks. Personally, the user rights are not supposed to be a big deal; however, when you persistently request for them, your editing activity will naturally be passed through a magnifying glass. I thought Joe was spot on about what you should do moving forward; it's not about whether or not you are eligible, rather, it's about what have you done about the concerns other editors raised. I recommend that you save some diffs on some of your AfC works that would address these concerns, and include them in whoever you request to next time. Regards, Alex Shih (talk) 18:58, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Alex Shih, I am not discouraged. I will ask you before applying again. Moreover, if you at any point of time happen to think that I am ready for NPR, do the needful. Dial911 (talk) 19:41, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
