Again, welcome! Mushroom (Talk) 23:35, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Your last rv in the Sexual attraction article returned some previous vandalism. Do you want to get it or would you like me to do it? --SilverhandTalk 02:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Boy, I know THAT feeling! Take care! :) --SilverhandTalk 02:41, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely. Just put {{Adopter|Xiner}} on your user page and fire away the questions. Remember you can always end the arrangement, and you're welcome to explore Wikipedia on your own. I'm looking forward to working with you. Xiner (talk, email) 03:56, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome! So, what do you know about fighting vandals? Btw, you should take a look at Wikipedia:Signatures or any post by someone whose signature interests you, because it is helpful to include a link to your talk page in your sig. Xiner (talk, email) 14:46, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL, ok, the counter vandalism unit and "recent changes patrol" are just userboxes people use to decorate their userpages. Theoretically, you don't even have to do anything to put them on your page, since no one's gonna take it off your page. That said, one would feel better if they actually did things their userboxes describe them to do.

As for user warnings, you should always warn a user when he/she is reverted. If they're good people, they'll learn from their mistake. Otherwise, they'll get a warning that may help justify a block later. For a first-time vandal, put {{subst:uw-vandalism1|pagename}} on their talk page, replacing pagename with the name of the page affected. WP:WARN lists other templates you can use -- just replace "uw-vandalism1" with the name of the other template. You should always include the "subst:" part. When the user may be just playing around with Wikipedia, use the test1-test3 (also known as testx) sequence instead. Xiner (talk, email) 03:51, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, Xiner has the right of it concering the CVU. It's a loose organizaion of editors that abhor vandalism. No special privs, but you can put a nifty userbox on your page. :) --SilverhandTalk 05:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome to The Unit! :D --SilverhandTalk 16:00, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can go back and warn those users, or you can forget about it. You never have to do anything on Wikipedia, remember, only should or should not. In this case, DON'T stress about it. It's not that important. When the user vandalizes after receiving a level 4 warning (you should make sure that he/she has had the time to read the last warning, you can report him or her to WP:AIV. Xiner (talk, email) 15:34, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Answering for Xiner, who's not active at the moment. You don't need to worry about whether an IP is multi-user or not. This is for admins to figure out and deal with. Even if the IP already has "this is a multi-user IP" on the talk page, do the warnings and the WP:AIAV report as usual. The admin who handles it might decide to deal with it differently than a usual block, but the report is still beneficial. — coelacan talk — 05:34, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another assignment[edit]

When a user forgets to sign their message on a talk page, you can place something like {{unsigned|Xiner}} after their post. You can add a second argument for the time of the post, but I'm not good at UTC and don't bother with it.

Required reading: WP:3RR. Please let me know when you are finished reading. Xiner (talk, email) 03:04, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No no no. It's just an assignment so I don't feel guilty about those userboxes on my user page. Xiner (talk, email) 03:40, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh huh. Well, have you read WP:ADMIN then? Xiner (talk, email) 03:47, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, it's something to keep in the back of your mind then. Luckily, I took a few jiu jitsu classes - though I failed miserably - so I know what sensei means. Xiner (talk, email) 03:52, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New assignment[edit]

Hi. It's time for another assignment. Please check User:Xiner/Adoptee assignments. Thanks. Xiner (talk, email) 01:53, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption[edit]

Hi H-ko, I know I haven't been the best of adopters lately. Sorry, and I'd fully understand if you want to end your adoption. No hard feelings, and I'd still answer any questions you have (please do).

If you do want to continue the adoption, please complete the new assignments. Thanks. Xiner (talk, email) 01:35, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok, that's cool! It's just that I haven't heard from you in a while, and thought you might've been dissatisfied. I'm sure you did well on your exams! Xiner (talk, email) 15:33, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, sure. I just wanted to make sure you're accounted for. Have fun! Xiner (talk, email) 21:42, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

End of an era[edit]

Hi there. As you've probably noticed, I have neglected my duties - due to personal circumstances. I cannot in good conscience continue to bill myself as an active adopter, and have thus edited your userpage to reflect the change. Rest assured that I'm still available for any questions you may have on your Wikipedia journey. Please do NOT hesitate to contact me about anything. Good luck and message me again soon! WP:CVU status[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you!
