Thank You For You On My Articles

Skull-grenade[edit]

This bot is capitalizing the citation templates. You're familiar with the problem, so I won't elaborate more.Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 10:57, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reference order[edit]

In these edits [1] [2] [3] [4] the bot rearranged references. You had agreed that the bot would never do this again. Please explain this before restarting the bot, since this is an error that was supposed to be permanently resolved. — Carl (CBM · talk) 16:47, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is not an error, it is a correction that I suppressed at your insistence. I can't believe you are still going on about it. AWB must have corrected tens of thousands of mis-ordered references - and no one has ever complained that the correct numerical order was wrong. Even you have never said that - only that it might be. Well I don't have the ability to run a compiler right now, so SB will have to take a break for the night. Rich Farmbrough, 17:03, 27 September 2010 (UTC).[reply]
I have been told by the AWB devs that it can be disabled via a checkbox, without having to recompile the code. So it is not necessary to recompile the code to disable it (not that it ever was - you could just turn off general fixes). Rearranging references requires manually examining them to determine which order is best, and a bot cannot do this. Several times, I have relied on your word that you would fix the bot, and you continue to fail to fix it. It appears I will need to simply scan all the edits of the bot for this problem for the near term, as I no longer find your assurances reliable on this matter. — Carl (CBM · talk) 17:15, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bare subst tags[edit]

In this edit [5] the bot added bare subst tags again. Tags that are commented out should not be dated at all. The bot needs to strip comments before using regexps to search for tags. — Carl (CBM · talk) 13:23, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ANI: Cite capitalisation adjustments[edit]

Stopping per Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Please block Rich Farmbrough - thousands of unnecessary capitalization changes; communication with bot owner is likely to be degraded owing to page blanking and installation of 1h[[6] (1 hour) auto-archiving. —Sladen (talk) 21:14, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
