RFC for me[edit]

No no no, i didnt quit ESP becuase of losing the election, actually i thought i did quite well, i quite because i ddnt feel it was right for me anymore. Also if you have any just bring them to my talk page as i welcome constructive criticism. Id rather try to work things out. Also some of my "nastiness" is due to certain personal problems in my life and may have affected my editing on wikipedia. I did take a wikibreak but i think i might need another one possibly. Jobe6 22:49, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Also i might sound a bit nasty if someone has been nasty to boothy443 as i feel he is a good faith contributor but has a staled image because people are mad about his high admin standards and want him to change his vote. It sorta makes me mad that even some of the most well respected members of our community have done this also. Jobe6 22:52, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No its alright you didnt have to apologize, but anyways thanks for offering to help. Anythign i can do for you to return the favor? If so just lemme know. Jobe6 22:59, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Note User:Merovingian who i whole heartedly respect also has almost automatic support votes but has never receieved any criticism. Also i wish i could help but seeing as im only 14 i dont think most people would give me a good paying job. Also if you would like to help get me my girlfriend back. Hehe. Jobe6 23:10, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Active users[edit]

I based my numbers off your list, yes. But I omitted Essjay, because he could not vote, as well as two candidates who did not vote (technically, they could have, and would have, but they felt it was inappropriate). Ral315 (talk) 19:21, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Signpost article[edit]

It's 31 out of 75 now. You misinterpreted what I meant about the three users (hell, Redwolf24 DID vote...) But as the one running the election, Essjay COULD NOT vote (while the charter does not specifically say this, it's pretty clear that he wouldn't be able to vote while running the election). So let's leave it at 75. Ral315 (talk) 20:40, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Edit conflicts[edit]

Dont you hate it when you edit 4 spread out parts of one text and then get an edit conflict? I just copy everything, click "edit this page" again, and paste it in along with the other user's text(assuiming s/he only make a one-spot edit). If both of us had edited all over the place, then it really would have been a wikimess :).Voice of All@|Esperanza|E M 00:01, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed that edit conflict at the Rfa and what both of you said was great. Thanks, a.n.o.n.y.m t 00:03, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Lol. I understand, I was just joking about the sneakiness. Yes, I will help you guys with the Afd's (after I pass rfa). Seems like a hard task. --a.n.o.n.y.m t 00:09, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be having some diffuclties[edit]

Here, have a beer.

Hi there, I see you are getting pretty stressed, here on wikipedia. Just thought you might appreciate a fake beer to imagine drinking. Seriously, is there anything I can do? Or not, just my 2 cents here. Regards Banes 11:16, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the beer, although technically I'm underage (better sneak it in and hide it under my bed). Oh well. The flying pecary was what I was referring to. How do suggest I go about doing it? Cheers Banes 16:47, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Titoxd's RfA[edit]

Thank you!

Thank you for supporting me in my RfA. I never thought I would get so much support! Thanks to your help, my nomination was the 10th most supported RfA in Wikipedia history. Now, please keep an eye out on me while I learn the new tools, ok? Thanks again! Titoxd(?!?) 17:03, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe... you said it, it was a landslide. But it wouldn't have happened if you hadn't nominated me! Thanks! :) Titoxd(?!?) 17:04, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Who are these unnamed admins that want to block an editor because he's voting "keep" on AfDs? This looks pretty dubious, and no more than an attempt to bully and intimidate User:Purplefeltangel — something that I trust he'll withstand. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:59, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lowell was a pretty good guess, but I'm still about 45 minutes away from it. Vague Hint - My city is notable enough to have its own article. :o Acetic'Acid 20:28, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I meant it is considered one of the main cities (rather than towns). Oh, and yeah, I'll be able to contribute to that lovely traffic in a short couple of months. :) Wicked Pissah. Acetic'Acid 00:32, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I have, but it isn't quite Wicked Pissah. :( I speak it at more of a near-native level. Acetic'Acid 02:37, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... I never noticed a difference between accents where I live and Malden accents. Perhaps I do have a Wicked Pissah B. Accent (I just love typing Wicked Pissah). I don't get out of Mass much, so I don't experience much contrast in terms of accents and dialects. Acetic'Acid 02:50, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not the best at HTML either. But I might be able to resize it so that its proportions are the same as the other language boxes. By the way, what exactly is a townie? I fear I might be one. :O zomg Acetic'Acid 02:57, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I am familar with 'massholes.' You NHites are pretty okay yourselves. But those Mainers? Woah boy. Talk about rednecks. :P (I had friends up there who could not get enough of Larry the Cable Guy). Hmm... are townies those people who run around screaming, "Yankees suck!" all the livelong day? Nashua Telegraph and regional AHL teams[edit]

Hi. I can't find any coverage of the Manchester Monarchs or Lowell Lock Monsters at the Nashua Telegraph's website. Am I missing something? ccwaters 20:45, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. The rationale behind those listings is to provide access to news coverage of the teams. I don't see how listing every newspaper within a 30 mile radius is achieving that. ccwaters 21:18, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
So you admit that this newspaper doesn't normally cover the nearby AHL teams. Putting an ocassional boxscore in the print version doesn't help most netizens browsing wikipedia. It sounds like we're both in agreement that this paper isn't a good source for these teams. I don't understand why you think they should be listed. ccwaters 12:27, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Barn thankies[edit]

Now, now, they only take up 4 extra-large plastic bins.  :)

I'll wait to put it on my user page until the RFA actually ends, as the oppose votes are coming in a lot faster than the support ones, and it would be a bit presumptious of me to assume I'll be an admin...

As to Biggie.P and friends, thanks for putting the notice up; I didn't look at JJ.Johnson's talk page... he's got even more sockpuppet accounts than I thought. I don't know how to prove it though...

Oh well, thankies for the barn, and hopefully I'll get to put it on my user page. I'll keep your description.  :) Thanks again, Bushytails 20:54, 26 October 2005 (UTC).[reply]

Welp, as I figured, looks like I won't need the barn after all... Oh well.  :) Bushytails 07:33, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:RFPP[edit]

Karmafist, I'm not going to get involved in this dispute, but I'm just going share my opinion with both you and Andy Mabbett: other people's comments shouldn't be removed or replaced just because they carry a negative gist; unless it is a clear-cut personal attack (i.e. You are an idiot! or something like that), "censoring" other people's comments probably won't do you any good except to aggravate a situation. Thanks. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk | WS 23:11, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I was referring to Pigsonthewing removing your "personal attacks". (I copied and pasted the message to him). Central Florida wasn't hit badly; only rain and some tropical storm force winds. South Florida didn't fare as well, though. :-( Thanks for asking. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk | WS 23:34, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

re: afd[edit]

Hey. I don't think there should be a problem with my AfD votes since I always provide a rationale. I just think that by Wikipedia precedent most articles should be kept. ♥♥purplefeltangel 02:06, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re RFA[edit]

My comment (more like a note to myself) was: "Appropriately neutral, though its doubtful that any Arbcom remedy would have a delay imposed." I simply meant by this that while you are correct in stating that it was "too soon after" (i.e. the Arbcom "findings" prejudices the outcome of the RFA), it would be less likely they would make a ruling that I be sent to RFA 'in a couple months.' Once they decided on the "reaffirm" option (as opposed to simply making a decision) it was a natural consequence that such would be immediate and hence carry the reflexive stigma of the finding. Sincerely, -St|eve 02:48, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Macedonian poll[edit]

Hello, I saw that you asked User:Theathenae for a link to the poll. The poll is at Talk:Macedonian Slavs/Poll and it was a draw (50/50). How can we be in violation of a draw? Theathenae is talking a load of rubbish. That was a justified move as the vast majority of sources and editors saw it appropriate. That administrator (I wont name him/her) moved the page because the move was supported by more that 60% of the users on the talk page. It was like odds of 7 for the move and 2 against it. You're right to guess I'm new at this. I've read the guide for deletions but the mechanics of nominating an article confuse me a little. Things seem to load a bit differently. No, I wasn't in Trading Spaces... I actually was going to sign up, but KnowledgeOfSelf added a simple tag that made my page look much nicer, and then I spent about two hours one day making everything fit into a wikitable. Sure, I'll help you redecorate one of these days. As for now, well, just go close and delete 20 AFDs (or 10 as keep), and you'll break the bar. SPUI[edit]

Erm. I find it hard to believe that a vote counts as a revert of an attempted closure. You could have just as easily argued that he had learned his lesson and decided to vote instead. But that's not the main reason I unblocked him. Yeah, his preemptive closure and warring over it were disruptive, and warranted a block if he had no intention of stopping. But, his vote indicated to me that he might have stopped anyway before the block. So I asked him and only after he agreed to not reclose the debate did I unblock him. His agreement rendered the block unnecessary. Feel free to reblock if he violates his promise. I hope you don't mind my unblock, I just thought that it could be solved without blocking. Pigsonthewing Arbitration[edit]

Thank you for entering the difficulties with Pigsonthewing on Die Lustige Witwe onto the Evidence page for the Pigsonthewing request for arbitration. Unfortunately, the link, which is supplied with your comment on his edit at 12:07 10 November, actually leads to an earlier edit of his at 11:45 10 November. Figaro 10:22, 13 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pigsonthewing is continuing to edit the page for Die Lustige Witwe. He wrote at one point that he did not know enough about the operetta to fix what he was referring to as mistakes in the article, and yet he feels entitled to continue modifying the article according to his desire, starting from 20:32, 13 November. His present interest seems to be directed to the section about the ballet version, where he has been interfering with the title of the ballet, and also deleting information from the section about the ballet. He has now also started editing The Merry Widow (ballet) article as well as continuing his interference with the page in the Die Lustige Witwe (The Merry Widow) operetta. It has become increasingly frusrating attempting to deal with Pigsonthewing's destructive influence, while losing time that could be spent more constructively on creation and improvement of articles. It is especially hard with the ballet article, because I was the person who created the article about the ballet, and then worked hard to maintain and try to improve the article. Pigsonthewing has now taken to complaining on the talk pages about the way the articles were written, and my reverting of his edits.
Thank you for allowing me to mention my problems with regard to Pigsonthewing to you. Figaro 13:30, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated[edit]

I wanted to let you know that I moved your prior page which you created "New Hampshire Revised Statutes(Annotated)" to conform to the official name "New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated". I also moved "Title I(New Hampshire)" to NH RSA Title I in keeping with the shorten version of how the title would be used. I had been contemplating creating the New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated article, but wasn't sure how to go about it. It seems that you are off to a great start and I will definately help you out as the project will be time intensive. As I am a law nut, I would be happy to answer any legal or form questions. Also, I started the WikiProject New Hampshire, which currently I am the only member of. I was hoping you would be willing to help out with it since it is overwelming for one person.Assawyer 05:25, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
