Abrasive manner at Talk:Intifada[edit]

You've been brought to WP:AE, but that's not my goal, at least at this time. You made four demands in four hours [1] [2] [3] [4] for a self revert, which in my opinion, seems patronizing. It should have been obvious by the second request that any further request would be fruitless. Next, jumping straight to ideological removal of sourced content [5] is WP:ABF. You've got to improve on reducing WP:BATTLEGROUND. starship.paint (RUN) 15:18, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Starship.paint: First, thanks for bringing this up here on the talk page, showing your genuine concern in good faith. Sure, I will admit that I might have overreacted in that particular article. One of the contributing reasons is that I discovered a tweet that had mass canvassed people to the article to remove sourced information they did not like (linked in article's talk page), which was for me the latest episode of mass canvassing that has frustratingly disrupted numerous discussions; something that I have been long complaining about at ARBCOM and lobbying for its addressing (current discussion ongoing there at the talk page). Nevertheless, I took the lead in developing consensus at the talk page, thanks to helpful suggestions by fellow editors, and a middle ground solution was eventually reached through a constructive discussion. That said, I would have also wished for my intentions and editing behavior to have been looked at in a more balanced and good faith way, as well, you know. Acknowledge your frustrations about the mass canvassing, but I believe that you had, and still have the ability to ... well, check if the editors you're interacting with are WP:SPA or more long-term editors. I think you can very easily figure that out in 5 minutes per editor, simply by checking contributions. starship.paint (RUN) 15:47, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Starship.paint: I did indeed check the contributions of each account I am unfamiliar with. But long-term editors can also be canvassed through a tweet. All in all thanks for the friendly reminder that I need to take a small break from WP. Makeandtoss (talk) 15:51, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
True, anyone can be canvassed by tweet. Still, just a reminder to ‘play nice’. starship.paint (RUN) 03:22, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As a general note, you make these requests far too often. Just in the past couple of days you have made them at Flour Massacre, Israel-Hamas war, as well as Intifada as Starship.paint points at. At a certain point such requests become unproductive and contribute to a battleground environment; I would suggest you limit how often you ask for such self-reverts, if only because if you ask for them too often outside of bright-line violations people start ignoring when you do ask. From my own experience, I can’t remember when I’ve actually requested someone self-revert over content. Perhaps if they broke 1RR/3RR maybe I would remind them. I’ve edited in modern American politics so that’s not a drama-free area either. starship.paint (RUN) 03:22, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You recently made two reverts in less than 24 hours:

  1. 08:08, 12 May 2024
  2. 12:25, 11 May 2024

Please self-revert 08:08, 12 May 2024.

In addition, at Israel-Hamas war for the past three days you have been making reverts just over 24 hours after your most recent revert. Please remember that 1RR is a limitation, not an allowance, and limit your reverts appropriately. BilledMammal (talk) 23:32, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
