Looks like so far this year passenger counts are still down from 2009, in the high single digits. I'd assume that the decline will flatten as the year goes on, perhaps even start to turn upward. But that's pure guess on my part. MikeTheActuary (talk) 11:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Interstate 269[edit]

The reason I keep rolling it back because it's the same issue, no official resigning of the freeway or nothing. It isn't signed, it isn't listed on TDOT's website as I-269, all we have is AASHTO, which doesn't mean it automatically starts because we have interstates that come years later after ruling. I keep hammering it in that there is no official documentation (i.e. DOT maps, press releases, reports) and no media sources (television or newspaper) backing the edits. --WashuOtaku (talk) 02:32, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I did read it. You apparently didn't read the comment I left on your page. TDOT is now referring to the stretching of road as I-269 officially. I shared a link to an example of such - the lane closure notice for the work to post the signs.

This is a different situation than I-840 in a couple of respects. TDOT actually wanted 840. They actually jumped the gun originally in referencing the highway as "interstate". It is for that reason that waiting for the federal approvals and waiting for the internal TDOT bureaucracy to work its magic was necessary before acknowledging the status change. Contrast that to 269, which has always been more of an MDOT project, at a time when TDOT funding was much leaner than the 840 days.

There is no guarantee that there will ever be a formal press release specifying the change. AASHTO has approved it. FHWA is crediting the miles for it. TDOT has just started referring to it as I-269 (rather than "SR 385 (future I-269)")

In a sense, as of 13 December 2017 (the first non-planning public reference by TDOT of "I-269 (redesignated SR 385)") I-269 is "more real" than I-69 is in Memphis. MikeTheActuary (talk) 20:47, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I grew up in the area, and had the plans for TN 385 up on my bedroom walls for a few years while growing up (my father was an urban planner). :)

The Shelby-Fayette county line runs in the I-269 right of way, east of the centerline from south of Exit 1 to Exit 2. The eastern ramps of Exit 1 are mostly in Fayette County. The county line passes through Exit 2, with the ramps between I-269 south and TN 385 west joining the 269 mainline in Shelby County, but the ramps between TN 385 / future I-269 north and 385 west joining the 269 mainline in Fayette County.

I linked to the Collierville zoning map as an example, as it's based on local GIS systems which are also linked to real estate and tax assessors data, and are about as definitive as one can get.
