Hello, P.M. Shreenidhi, and Welcome to Wikipedia!

Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username and the date. Please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. Below are some useful links to facilitate your involvement. Oh yes!, I also highly recomend you to go to the list of available wikipedian mentors where you can find all the members of this project (like me) who are advanced editors seeking to train or teach the newcomers.

Remember to be bold, anyone can do a great job.

Hi! Shreenidhi!

Please read the following very carefully|

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Hello! Sreenidji or Shreeenidhi, whichever is correct! This is Srinivas. Welcome to wikipedia. So u need help in wikipedia?

See, wikipedia is not a website but a collection of websites and thus it is called blog or portal. Read more about it at Wikipedia. It is Jimmy Wales who started it.

Rules of the community:

  1. Be polite to everyone.
  2. Follow wikipedia editing rules.
  3. Sign in your posts.
  4. Be an active contributor.
  5. Never fear to express ur views.

And many more...

Wikipedia is actually very easy to work on but you will have to learn a bit at the starting. It maximum takes ten days to learn it. It is very easy and interesting when you learn it.

Useful links which will help you to edit.

Later you can also learn template messages to put on articles.

And your own user namespace.

First, don't create articles!!! Test ur knowledge at Sandbox. But, its always rush there and ur edits will clash with that of somebody else. Thus, I have created your own user sandbox where you can do edits.

P.M.Shreenidhi/Sandbox

Sandbox is a place where u can do edits.

I have also places a {{Userpage}} on your userpage so that it notifies that it is ur userpage.

Then try editing already existing articles, like correcting mistakes, inserting information, etc. Always remember to provide an edit summary:

Insert a summary of your edit in not more than 200 charecters. Check box on minor edit if you have done:

  • Spelling corrections
  • Simple formatting (e.g. capitalization, punctuation, or properly adding italics to non-English words, like folie de grandeur)
  • Formatting that doesn't change the meaning of the page (e.g. adding horizontal lines, splitting one paragraph into two—where this is not contentious)
  • Obvious factual errors (e.g. changing "Nixon resigned in 1874" to "Nixon resigned in 1974")
  • Fixing layout errors
  • Adding or correcting wiki links
  • Removing vandalism and graffiti

Vandalism and graffiti are the things you will learn later on...

The edit summary is available on the history page of an article.

Don't do abruptive editing or you will be blocked from editing for 12 hours. Just see my talk page's archive 3. I had been blocked from editing for 12 hours.

If this goes on frequently, you will be banned from wikipedia.

You are an user! There are also administrators on wikipedia who keep watching your acts. Follow wikipedia's uncopyright policy. No material must be copyrighted.

Numbering And Signing

Numbering

You mustn't number like this:

   1.
   2.
   3.

You must do like this:

#
#
#
#

And wikipedia automatically numbers it, like this:

  1. A
  2. B
  3. C

And if you want subnumbers,

#
##
###
####
#####

Then subnumbers are automatically created like this:

  1. A
    1. AA
      1. AAA
        1. AAAA
          1. AAAAA

And for bullets use asterixes (*) instead of hashes (#).

Signing

You must not sign in userpages, u must sign only in talk pages and project registration pages. Sign using four tildes (~~~~) which gives ur name linked to userpage and talk linked to user talk and time.

You must sign in some places using only three tildes (~~~). That gives only ur username and talk.

At if u want time, type five tildes (~~~~~) which gives out time.

How is my new signature? -- Srinivas G Phani Talk · Conribs · Image : 13:10, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Image uploading

It is not at all unsafe to upload your own images. But still be sure to provide proper things for your image. I still want to delete it away. You must sign with four tildes:- ~~~~ and not by your own like this:- Shreenidhi and time. It is wrong. Your name must link to your user page and there must talk beside your name linking to your user talk!

Like this (for user: Example): Example (Talk) 07:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Understand. And i have told good many times to you and snehanjali!

-- Srinivas G Phani Talk · Conribs  : 07:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

The Matter is that you must link Shreenidhi to your user page. It is then selected as your signature else sinebot, is a group that checks unsigned cooments, auto signs after your comments. They have done it everywhere where you have signed in my talk page. They do it like this:
—Preceding unsigned comment added by P.M.Shreenidhi (talkcontribs)
And I dont like such idiotic stuff by sinebot.
So, you must link your name to your user page. See, Link to get help with hyperlinks. Also use your user sandbox for testing. --Srinivas G Phani 07:26, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
