The issue with unreliable sources is the content, not the reference citations[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your efforts to improve the encyclopedia are appreciated. However, I see that you are removing reference citations from articles because the sources cited have been identified as unreliable, but you are leaving behind the information that is attributed to those sources. That does not improve the verifiability of the encyclopedia -- it makes things worse, because the reader cannot determine where the article content came from. Please do not attempt to cure reference problems by simply removing citations. Instead, please evaluate the content, try to find reliable sources for the content, and insert appropriate citations. If you have no reason to question the validity of the content, but cannot find a new source (or have not taken the time yet to search for one), you may mark the citation as questionable using the {{rs}} template, as I did at Kripalu Center. This advises readers that there may be problems with the content. If your research indicates that the unreliable content is probably not valid, then it may be best to delete both the reference citation and the content -- but please do not just delete the reference. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. --Orlady (talk) 17:23, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "unreliable sources".[edit]

I can't tell if you are more interested in censorship about Trungpa Rinpoche's negative press or in proving all internet published sources are unreliable. What are your motives for removing "Stripping the Gurus" as a source? It's been on this page for years. I can attest from first hand experience that the chapter on CTR is true and extremely well documented by using quotes from published sources. Many people have tried to remove controversial material from this site and none have succeeded. It would help if you would define your intentions. Thank you.

An article that you have been involved in editing, List of books about philosophy , has been proposed for a merge with another article. If you are interested in the merge discussion, please participate by going here, and adding your comments on the discussion page. Thank you.
